One of the most prominent and well-known advantages of student life at Georgia Tech is access to the campus computer network. Georgia Tech prides itself on having a dependable and efficient network. Needless to say, the network surpasses even those standards. The large amount of bandwidth that is allowed over the network makes the sharing of files and applications easy, which makes studying so much easier. The network is so incredibly easy to use that it makes research feasible and increases the quality of work.
Recently, Georgia Tech changed its policy computer policy, so now all students are required to have laptops. All dorm rooms have Ethernet connections, but most students don’t use them because Georgia Tech’s wireless is dependable and easy to use. In addition, the school provides three general-use computer clusters on campus, which are full during peak hours but are usually less crowded at night. Printing and copying services are also available at the campus library’s computer cluster, located near the middle of campus. Individual departments also furnish their own computer labs, which are usually only available to students in those departments.
