Greek Life: Good way to meet people

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I love the idea of Greek life and have been trying to get involved but I'm not really sure where to start. But the ones who are involved around school look like they're having the time of their lives, creating friendships with each-other and contributing to the society.

3 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: I only joined one, Omega Delta Sigma, but it was short-lived. We had high hopes and ambitions for our fraternity, but we had difficulty recruiting and growing once our members started graduating or leaving for other personal reasons.

Greek life seems to be very important to GCSU. Since there are nine fraternities and nine sororities, it often appears that anyone can find their right fit. Fraternities and sororities give students a way to enhance their college life through leadership opportunities, community service, scholarship, and the overwhelming feeling of brotherhood or sisterhood.

Alpha Delta Pi, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Delta Zeta sororities have houses on campus in which the members of their executive boards live. Frequently, Greek life is associated with a negative image, but Greek life at GCSU strives to be a positive organization on campus and within the community.

Each sorority and fraternity has its own national philanthropy with which it is affiliated. Every organization puts on several fundraisers a year to raise money for philanthropy and to give back to the community! So even if you hear a bad thing or two about sororities or fraternities, remember-they are doing a lot of good, too!
