Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Be involved in a variety of extracurriculars in high school.
  • Be original in your application essay.
  • Take the SAT/ACT seriously.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Do not buy all of your books at the bookstore. It is easier to get them all at one place, but it will save you a ton of money if you buy or rent online.
  • Get involved on campus early; there is nothing worse than sitting halfway through junior or senior year, thinking, "I wish I would have done that!"
  • When making your schedule for upcoming semesters, have back-up classes in mind in case you do not get in to your first choice. Then, have back-ups for your back-ups!
Interviews & Information Sessions
Information sessions and campus tours are offered at select times on weekdays and Saturdays, and reservations for campus tours are required. The information session consists of talking with a professional admissions staff member, going over possible majors, the admissions process, student life, housing, and how to pay for school.
Campus Tours
Information sessions and campus tours are offered on Mondays and Fridays at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays at 11 a.m., and Saturdays at 10 a.m.; reservations for campus tours are required and generally done online. Campus tours are led by a student guide who will point out various facilities and describe the history of the school. Prospective students should typically allow two to three hours for tour activities.
Did You Know?
University Housing offers tours of the residence halls and village apartments weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. To schedule a tour, students should call (478) 445-5160.
