Academic Flexibility: I am in the process of transferring credits and still waiting to see what they will accept, I was told only 3 classes would be eligible.

Overall Experience: During the LVN program there were a lot of changes coming down from corporate that made it even more frustrating and harder to deal with but you must be flexible to change. The admissions office is not always pleasant and lose paper work quite a bit.

Campus Resources: I have asked for help with scholarship information and they have about 3 places they know of to help out. Not much help so I'm doing it on my own.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: The class size is great and most of the professors are always there to help out and willing to go the extra mile to help you out one on one.

Student Body: Everyone is there to help each other, we study together and help each other out when one fails or doesn't understand. Teamwork!

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is over priced but they get people in because it's convenient and nor pre requisites required. Usually student loans don't cover 100 percent so we need to work or borrow elsewhere to pay tuition.

Career Services: The career services coordinator has kept up with us and sends several emails with jobs looking for LVNs.

Academic Experience: It is very fast paced and you must be dedicated to hours of studying and flexible to change.

Academic Experience: The professors are set in their ways they don't teach so much off a standardized curriculum they all have their own opinions and their own ways of teaching .

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: They have set schedules to choose from. Either i agree to be a full time student or a part time student. i chose a full tim student because I would like to be done with school in a timely manner because i want to pursue a much further education. Therefore I will have to adjust to the full time schedule which will be difficult, but i hope it is possible.

Student Body: From various reviews and visits that have been made to Galen there is much diversity in the student body. They are open to the variety of cultures.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I have not began the program yet, but from things ive heard about the college it seems to have a very helpful faculty. There are no long wait periods. Options are always open on when to start the program, and those attending Galen are very enthusiastic about future occupations. The full time program is said to be intense, but Galen prepares you very much for the real world. Therefore i am very excited to begin school, and my future here at Galen.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: The registration process, so far has been very smooth going. However it is quite pricey. Paying out of pocket for school is difficult and I am apprehensive about the future and how i will be able to afford everything. The professors, ive heard, are very great. A fellow student (currently attending) is very close with several of her instructors. they make everyone feel individualized rather than just any other student body.

Career Services: Galen college of nursing offers many advisors and their group of mentors and faculty has been excellent so far. Throughout the program they encourage exploring future career options

5 College Junior

Career Services: They are very helpful and give you several options in career placement.

Student Body: The student body at Galen is diverse, and though nursing is said to be a women dominated field, it has progressively changed into a male and female profession. We have students from different cultural backgrounds, healthcare backgrounds, and genders, which makes for a better learning experience and environment.

Online Courses: The registration process is easy. Taking online courses benefits being able to work full-time and accommodating school around your lifestyle. Professors make it easy to communicate as they are reachable through e-mail generally 24/7. Deadlines for projects are generally due by the end of the day. Online courses are convenient while still gaining the knowledge needed to succeed.

Overall Experience: School is very unorganized. Administrators talk to you with disrespect or as if you were in grade school. Instructor turn over rate is very high. If they are bored with one instructing job they can switch to another at the drop of a dime. Instructors DO NOT have any teaching degrees or requirements only that they have a BSN in nursing not teaching. NCLEX exam pass rates have dropped so instead of re evaluating the instructors teaching they blame the students. I would not ever recommend this college to anyone. Get your pre requisites done and attend a real college that advocates for the students and actually teach something during the lectures.

Overall Experience: I pay a tremendous amount of money for child care to sit in a classroom for 8 hrs and be taught nothing I will be tested on. Instructors are not qualified or trained with any teaching skills. They are thrown in a classroom and the student suffer from their lack of book knowledge. DO NOT recommend this college.

Overall Experience: Career services are very helpful with helping finding a job while in school or after graduation. Several times a year job fairs are held for the students.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Unlike other schools where there is a VERY long waiting list to get into nursing school this school starts a new program every 3 months. The registration process was not difficult and I appreciated the ability to start immediately in the nursing program. I plan to attend Galen College of Nursing to obtain my ADN.

Overall Experience: Every course is a little different because every professor is a little different and has different ways of teaching. The courses are difficult and the school works very hard to good quality staff and educational courses.

Career Services: There is a wonderful career services at our school. Several times a year the school holds job fairs and the career services department is always ready to help. I plan to get a job so that I can have some income but I will be going back in about 6 months towards an ADN.

Tuition & Financial Aid: This school is very expensive in my opinion but going through the financial aid process was not difficult. The school has nice classrooms, and nice labs for teaching. I haven't had a problem with financial aid but I to have as much as possible paid in scholarships to alleviate the financial burden once school is finished.

Academic Experience: This is an accelerated program with a classes that are set up. You do not choose what to take or when you take them. If you choose to go to school full time. The classes begin at 8am and end at 5pm everyday. There isn't "homework" that is expected to be turning in but reading, going over notes and what was taught that day is recommended. Every quarter you have a different clinical site that you attend. There are possibilities of getting a job at a site from communicating with the management staff.
