Overall Experience: Class sizes are perfect. There are just enough students to interact with and have a good group discussion, but not too many students to where you feel that you are just sitting in the back of an auditorium listening to a long lecture. The courses are fantastic I cannot explain how much I have learned from Galen's professors.

Campus Resources: Galen has a great library and it is a great way to meet new students, and expand your study groups. The more minds you bring to the table the more creatively you can start thinking as a group to really get a great school experience. I have also never had any problem finding the book or resource I need in the library to answer my questions. Also the librarian is great about helping you find the resources you need for your questions or research.

Career Services: Galen will help you receive your BSN, and will help you find a school and transfer your credits if you would like to further your education.

Academic Experience: Galen College of Nursing is specifically about nursing. So even in your prerequisites you get the best nursing based knowledge. Every class in the program relates, and revolves around nursing. Also the professors are knowledgeable and have degrees in health sciences. The workload may be heavy but this comes with a nursing program, it must be in order to accurately study the things you need to take away for your future career as a nurse. Galen makes it very easy to find extra help for you to succeed.

Academic Experience: Galen's academics are great. The professors are knowledgeable and will help you find answers to your questions. The curriculum's are great and I feel that I have really taken what I need from each classes curriculum to be a successful nurse in today's society. The registration process for me had been quick and easy. The workload is heavy but all of it is useful and necessary and it has pushed me to really learn and succeed in my school work. The study options are great. The library has many resources that have helped me along the way. Also the students are easy going and there are so many study group options. They also offer tutoring and open office hours for the students to get help from their professors.

Academic Flexibility: I have had the best experience at Galen College of Nursing so far. I live a little over an hour away from my school I choose to drive there every school day because Galen has given me such a great experience. Living so far away and having a weekend job makes it hard to have the appropriate time to study, I have to cut 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic, out of each day due to the drive. Galen has had such flexible class hours that I have been able to have a good steady schedule each quarter that fits in with everyday life. The professors are also easy to reach during office hours and by email and they always email you back promptly. Galen also transferred my preferred credits with no problems.

Online Courses: My experience with my online courses have been very rewarding. Although it is very different than a traditional classroom. There is so much involvement with technology today that online courses are very beneficial. In a classroom your peers are all around you and it is very easy to get to know them and interact with them. When I took my first online class I did not think it would actually feel like I was in a class with a professor and fellow students. But to my surprise I learned that peers interacted with each other just as much, if not more. Most of the online courses I have taken at Galen have had a weekly discussion as assignments and I found that the students were interacting with each other as if it were a social media site, like Facebook. They were posting more than just the required posts for the assignment and really getting the discussions going. The professors have also been fantastic about getting involved in the conversations among the students and leading them into further discussions in the virtual classroom. Among communication I have also learned many advantages involved with learning to use technology with your future career.

Student Body: I believe that the student body is the best at Galen College of Nursing. Every class I have attended almost every student in that room seemed to have great positive energy, they were interacting with each other, with the professors, and in the class discussions. Most of the students are all juggling many aspects of life including school, work, children, etc., and I have seen so much support with in each other in the student body at Galen. Louisville is a big city so their are many different diversities but, I have never ran into or seen any problems at Galen concerning diversity students seems to be happy and feel accepted with one another . Nursing school is tough and it seems like at Galen all the students come together as a type of support system to help push each other through.

Tuition & Financial Aid: When I met with the admissions ladies the first time, they had me fill out some paperwork and asked me why i wanted to go into nursing. My admissions lady also told me up front that this program is very difficult but that her sister was already enrolled into the program and even though she says it's the hardest thing she's ever done in her life, she is glad she's doing it. Once i was ready to leave the admissions office, she handed me a print out of how much money everything would cost me as well as a highlighted checklist of things i needed to complete in the weeks to come before i meet with my financial advisor. When i had finished, my FA contacted me to schedule an appointment to go over the choices i had picked and what the best route for me would be. The communication between the admissions office and the financial aide people is great! I'm glad i picked such a good school!
