When I met with the admissions ladies the first time, they had me fill out some paperwork and asked me why i wanted to go into nursing. My admissions lady also told me up front that this program is very difficult but that her sister was already enrolled into the program and even though she says it's the hardest thing she's ever done in her life, she is glad she's doing it. Once i was ready to leave the admissions office, she handed me a print out of how much money everything would cost me as well as a highlighted checklist of things i needed to complete in the weeks to come before i meet with my financial advisor. When i had finished, my FA contacted me to schedule an appointment to go over the choices i had picked and what the best route for me would be. The communication between the admissions office and the financial aide people is great! I'm glad i picked such a good school!

My experience with my online courses have been very rewarding. Although it is very different than a traditional classroom. There is so much involvement with technology today that online courses are very beneficial. In a classroom your peers are all around you and it is very easy to get to know them and interact with them. When I took my first online class I did not think it would actually feel like I was in a class with a professor and fellow students. But to my surprise I learned that peers interacted with each other just as much, if not more. Most of the online courses I have taken at Galen have had a weekly discussion as assignments and I found that the students were interacting with each other as if it were a social media site, like Facebook. They were posting more than just the required posts for the assignment and really getting the discussions going. The professors have also been fantastic about getting involved in the conversations among the students and leading them into further discussions in the virtual classroom. Among communication I have also learned many advantages involved with learning to use technology with your future career.

I believe that the student body is the best at Galen College of Nursing. Every class I have attended almost every student in that room seemed to have great positive energy, they were interacting with each other, with the professors, and in the class discussions. Most of the students are all juggling many aspects of life including school, work, children, etc., and I have seen so much support with in each other in the student body at Galen. Louisville is a big city so their are many different diversities but, I have never ran into or seen any problems at Galen concerning diversity students seems to be happy and feel accepted with one another . Nursing school is tough and it seems like at Galen all the students come together as a type of support system to help push each other through.
