3 College Sophomore

Weather: if you like snow that frostburg is the college for you. if you don't well i think it would be best if you don't come.

3 College Student

Weather: It can get pretty cold up here during the winter months, however when spring rolls around you'll be glad you came to a school with such a beautiful scenery, and cool breeze to match the blazing sun.

2 College Freshman

Weather: The snow is ridiculous so it's often very dangerous to drive. I'm a local though, so it is nothing I'm not too used to.

1 College Freshman

Weather: The weather at Frostburg can fluctuate from -15 to 30 degrees in a week. It may snow one day and be beautiful and sunny the next. To add to all of this the wind is absolutely ridiculous and can be 14 mph at times.

5 College Junior

Weather: It is a little colder here! but it's great because there are ski resorts close by, and its great for snowboarders and skiiers.

To say that Frostburg has a "bipolar" weather system is an understatement. One minute the sun will be out, and the next minute, it will be snowing. Since Frostburg is in the mountains, it is hard to determine the weather because it can change at the drop of a hat.

When it's cold, it can go into negative digits. When it's warm, it can get to 90 F (good luck seeing that kind of weather during school, though). The only advice to give prospective students is to pack a lot of winter clothing. You will only wear summer clothing for about a month: two weeks at the beginning of school and two weeks at the end. Also, keep in mind that the name of the town/college is "Frost-burg." Expect a lot of snow. Do not make the same mistake that other incoming freshmen do, asking, "Why is it so cold here?!" and getting the inevitable response: "Because it's 'Frost-burg.'"
