Campus Food

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: It can be good, but there is a limited selection.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Lane is always good. Chesapeake has good food for the most part, but sometimes the food isn't that good.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food in the cafe is by far the worst. There aren't that many options, and what they do offer isn't that great. If you live off campus, and want to grab a bite to eat someplace on campus the prices are absolutely ridiculous.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Not many options of food choices

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Typical college food. Not to great but also usually not too bad. I will say that especially in Lane there is very little variety. But there is a Starbucks where you can use your bonus bucks.

There's a variety of different meal choices on campus. The Lane University Center includes a Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell, and many other options. The food is delicious, but it costs you an arm and a leg. Normally, you can buy a 99-cent burrito at Taco Bell, but here it is almost $2. Lane Center overprices all of its food just so the University can make a profit. Good news is that the Lane Center uses meal plans, but the hours that meal plans are accepted are very minimal and very inconvenient. If you go there before the time meal plans are accepted, you can only pay with cash, debit/credit, or bonus bucks (money that you put onto your student ID).

If you are not interested in the food offered there, then Sub Zero (a deli attached to Sowers Hall) or the Chesapeake Dining Hall are your only other options on campus. Sub Zero makes the food right in front of you—it’s delicious, and it is the healthiest option. Chesapeake has good food, but it cannot always be trusted. Like most cafeterias, the students are not always sure what the food is made of. At all three of these locations, there are numerous options for those students who are vegan, vegetarian, or kosher. Students are able to get delicious salads, wraps, and sandwiches that are healthy and fit any taste.
