College Senior

Campus Food: I am in an online program. When I have went to campus, the food was amazing because it was all homemade.

5 College Senior

Majors: I am in an online program. I was hesitant as first but I love it. Frontier Nursing University has the best educators. They are compassionate and caring. They want you to succeed. Even though I do not see them I have a strong relationship with them and have never felt abandoned.

5 College Senior

Majors: I am currently in clinicals for my family nurse practitioner degree. There is not any pay associated with the required 675 hours I must meet. I have had to take time off from my job to fulfill my clinical requirements.

5 College Senior

Scholarships: With this being my first time to require financial aid, I really have nothing to compare it to, but it was so easy. I was able to tell the school what I wanted to pay and they took care of the rest. My school deserves more financial aid due to its incredible employees in the financial aid office that makes students lives much easier and dealing with financial aid a breeze.

Campus Housing: I am in an online masters program. I have had to travel to campus two times during the program. During these times I did have to stay on campus. It was really nice because of the history that is incorporated into the campus. It was also small, everything in walking distance. It was on a mountain so the view was beautiful. I do not feel as though I can appropriately rate this due to me being on an online program and for only having to stay on the campus two time.

Campus Housing: This is a distance education school. The housing is historical and only hosts students for a few days at a time. It is beautiful

Off-Campus Dining: Hyden, Kentucky is very rural. There might be one local diner and it is probably closed before your grandma is in bed

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: This school has a focus on academics. The students here are not interested in appearances or social life. They are focused on helping others

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: I've only been there once, but it appears as if the security guard was posted 24hours. I feel that my safety was a priority.

5 College Junior

Transportation: Provides transportation to and from Lexington Bluegrass airport. Cost is better than renting a car.

Campus Quality: Although older, its very charming. The housekeepers do a good job and feed you very well.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: Charming, older original buildings for the most part.

2 College Junior

Local Area: You're really only here for special courses. Outside of campus, there is not a lot in town. There are a lot of scenery and outdoorsy things to do nearby.

5 College Junior

Weather: the campus in in the maountains of KY and the weather varies greatly. Snow in winter, rain in fall, and hot in summer

4 College Junior

Technology: Being mostly an online program, the computers on campus are minimal. I recommend taking your own laptop

5 College Junior

Campus Quality: As a nursing school set in the home of the historic Frontier Nursing Association, FNU's purpose and setting are perfect for each other.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: Small quaint campus based in the hospital founded by the school's founder in scenic rural kentucky. Meals provided, and library. As a distance learning campus few traditional amenites are needed.

3 College Junior

Technology: great network and coverage to the dorms. bringing your own pc a must, to get set up with the remote protocols and software.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: The buildings on campus are very old but have been kept in good condition. The rooms are clean with sufficient furniture for the short stays, including closets and desks and lamps. Finding three prong electrical outlets is a bit more difficult and they are not in every dorm bedroom. Bathrooms are shared on each floor.

3 College Senior

Parking: Gravel and Steep Grades – There is not a great expectation of traffic on the tiny campus. Parking space is by the small historic buildings that serve as dorms.

4 College Senior

Diversity: Students from around the globe attend as this is one of the oldest midwifery universities in America and around the world.

5 College Senior

Local Area: The campus is very tiny in the rural mountains of a very out of the way towne. The area is rich in history and adjacent to the west side of the Cumberland Gap area, so the Appalachian flora/fauna diversity is fairly abundant.
