Academic Experience

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: My major is very popular at my school and my school offers a wide variety of classes geared towards my major.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: the class sizes are small and the teachers are very focused on the classes

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The anthropology department is absolutely fantastic. The the profs are all easy going and understanding, but serious about teaching and will go out of their way to help you understand course content. They are very charismatic and friendly people, and it is not hard to get to know them outside of class, especially if you are involved in field schools or more specialized anthro classes. Workload is not too heavy typically, but if you pay attention and are engaged you will learn a great deal. They make it easy for you to get impressive experience in something specific that you are interested in that looks great on a academic applications. I especially recommend Mark Hylkema, Sam Connell, KAthyrn Shaefers, Kathryn Maurer, Dan Clearly and Neta Bar.

Academic Experience: Teachers, by and large, are fantastic. That being said, always consult rate my professor. Ive had some teachers who care very little, and can be rude and condescending especially in the math department. English teachers are another department that is hit or miss. Psychology professors, while friendly, have relatively simple classes that while great for an easy A are not in themselves very rewarding intellectually. Departments I can can strongly recommend are the Anthropology, Astronomy, Horticulture, and Ceramics. If you are willing to keep yourself engaged you can learn a lot, if not you cna drift by with decent grades, but not retain a lot.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Everything is made easy at Foothill. The class registration process is extremely easy to get through. There are plenty of after school studying programs to help in any class a student needs help in. All of the professors are extremely nice and helpful, and you get the vibe that they want each and every student to do the best they possibly can do.
