Administration: Any where you go you are going to get a variety of cops. At FSU I would say a large majority of them are pretty nice people and do not care that much about catching an underage kid with a beer because they are more concerned with drunk driving and domestic crimes. They will also not hesitate to give you a parking ticket or tow you so that part of it sucks. In my dorm in Degraff we were allowed to have over night guests and pregames. They only wanted us to be quiet and courteous to those around. So if you can stay quiet and not be obnoxiously drunk you shouldn't have a problem.

Administration: Campus strictness really is great. There are police all over campus, but they are pretty strict about parking violations and drugs/alcohol in dorms. Attendance in class, from my experience, hasn't been extremely strict, but my professors still encouraged us to come.

Over the past several years, FSU has been trying to tone down the party-school reputation and put more emphasis on academics and athletics. Underage drinking is the biggest problem on campus, and the FSUPD are ever-vigilant when it comes to monitoring on-campus festivities. The quiet, subdued affairs generally don't have any problems. When things get loud is when the FSUPD steps in. This is not to say you still can't have a good time. On-campus parties are frequent, especially during football season. However, to avoid trouble with the school, it's best to party off campus. Just be aware of what you're doing, keep things under control, and party smart. Respect the police and they'll respect you.

Campus police don't play around when is comes to underage drinking. FSU has a strict policy about that, as well as drug use. Expulsion is not unheard of, and several Greek houses have been censured by the University. As long as things are kept under control, the campus cops won't break up the party. As soon as things begin to get rowdy, be prepared to see the blue flashing lights pull up outside. The main thing to watch out for is the Tallahassee Police Department. They have established a Party Patrol that not only roams the streets, but also responds to neighborhood complaints. These guys do not mess around. If they show up, expect them to write a ticket or two. If they don't show up, you have nothing to worry about. If you don't get too loud, you should be fine.
