Overall Experience: I am not really involved with the career services and so cannot speak on this subject

Greek Life: The sororities are very involved and host many different charitable events open to the public. The fraternities for the most part throw parties and try to avoid getting shut down for illegal drinking or rape allegations.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: I don't pay attention to sports at all but we have a Quidditch team and I'm pretty down with that.

Overall Experience: Most people have a fantastic time at Florida State University, but as someone who has to work nearly full-time to be able to support my living expenses, living with mental illness, and trying to go to school full-time, it's a nightmare. Trying to schedule work, school, and life around each other is nearly impossible. I don't feel like I've learned anything I came here to learn because most professors for the classes I wanted to take and subjects I wanted to learn have no patience with me as a student who has no other choice but to have 160 irons in the fire at any given time in order to survive. FSU has a max credit hour limit and a fairly strict plan for each major in order to push students through to graduation as quickly as possible. Because of this, many exploratory students don't have the chance to branch out and take classes from different majors in order to find what they might want to pursue. Financial aid is limited to full-time students only, which is a pain because there are a plethora of students like me who have to work through college, and sometimes taking a full load of classes is just not feasible.

Beyond that, campus life is amazing, the campus itself is beautiful, and there are a decent number of resources around the school for disability accommodations, clubs, student health, and counseling. If it weren't for FSU's Student Health Center, I would still have no control over my mental illnesses and I likely would have had to drop out completely by now. Instead, my disabilities are under more control now than I've ever had and I'm finally able to do well in the classes I still have.

Overall Experience: A beautiful campus with a plethora of resources.

Health & Safety: I have never been sexually assaulted but we have had assemblies that have made it known that if such a terrible thing happens to you, you are allowed to talk about it and receive help.

Overall Experience: Joab Corey is an amazing economics teacher very interesting and cares if you understand the topic clearly.

Campus Housing: The dorm life isn't ideal but it is fun getting to know other freshman when you are new to the university.

Overall Experience: As an English major, my core classes were always typically small (15-20 people) and extremely informal. The professors were always very colloquial in speech and made the students feel more like colleagues. A lot of my professors I can still reach out to for questions and letters of recommendations. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Overall Experience: There are plenty of internship opportunities for certain departments. Other departments, like the English department, are quite niche and it might be hard to find an immediate job coming out of college. The alumni network, however, is massive and easy to connect with. The university offers various career fairs throughout the year and the career center is always willing to help students with application materials.

Health & Safety: There are a large amount of emergency poles placed around campus for individuals to use to reach campus police who are typically quick to respond. There are plenty of self-safety courses and informational sessions offered to students. The administration is always quick to reach out to the student body in the case of emergencies. The large majority of students are willing to help one another.

Campus Housing: Provides an opportunity to become acquainted with the school. Could be cheaper.

Greek Life: I have the perspective of knowing individuals personally who are a part of Greek life and seeing a general population of those involved with Greek life on an everyday basis. I think the upside of Greek life is that it offers an opportunity to build a large network with past and present members of either a sorority or fraternity. However, I think Greek life also establishes boundaries between those involved and those not involved. Granted Florida State University has a student population of approximately 40,000, Greek life creates an incredibly cliquey atmosphere. Then again, this is a generalization of Greek life and not all sororities or fraternities are self-inclusive.

Overall Experience: I spent the three and a half years of my undergraduate career at Florida State University before being accepted into the Master of Fine Arts program for Screenwriting. There's not much I would change about my experience, except maybe my involvement with more student related activities and community service. My favorite experiences include witnessing firsthand the National Championship in 2013, late nights eating free pancakes outside the student cinema, and watching a multitude of bands under the hot spotlight at the campus venue, Club Downunder. Florida State University also provided me the opportunity to meet my best friends and explore the creative endeavors I had always been interested in: being in a band and acting in movies. I couldn't have asked for better professors, a better setting, or a better education.

Athletics: The athletics, possibly more than any other division of campus life, brings all the students together. On Saturday afternoons or evenings in the Fall, nearly the entire student population unites inside of the football stadium and the unanimous cheers remind me of a choir on Sunday mornings.

Overall Experience: The college of music is an amazing place.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee.
