Weather: The only time the weather is a problem is when it rains and you are trying to walk to class on campus.

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many different choices from cheap to expensive. It's great that there are local restuarants so you can try something different and there are also the usual fast food places and chain restuarants. Also, near the school most of the dining options stay open later than regular operating hours to accomodate students who stay out at night.

Transportation: The shuttles on and off-campus are free and are helpful to students who don't want to drive to campus. However, it is a long wait and not always reliable which makes it difficult for students to arrive to class on time or make the most of their time throughout the day.

3 College Senior

Diversity: There are students from all different races with diverse perspectives at FSU.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: Many amenities are offered but because there are so many students it is difficult to take advantage of them.

3 College Senior

Administration: Professors are very strict on the honor policy.

Scholarships: I received financial aid in the beginning and after the first year my financial aid decreased for unfounded reasons. I applied the same time as the year before, yet I was told I applied too late to receive my university's scholarship. Also, I was told my parents made too much money so my grants were taken away from me despite the fact that I pay for my school expenses ALONE. It is very frustrating when I am told that I can not even claim myself as an independent to get the necessary funds. I am an excellent student yet I have to bury myself in an overwhelming debt with student loans and can barely afford to pay my living expenses.

Health & Safety: For the most part I feel safe on campus. However, I am typically only on campus for my classes.

Local Area: I do not like living in Tallahasse because it is definitely a college town. There are too many students in such a small area so the traffic is horrible. Also, the only things to do in Tallahassee near the school is to go out and enjoy the nightlife. I am not interested in these activities so it is hard to find things to do that fit my lifestyle.

Greek Life: I am in a new sorority on campus and the overall attitude of Greeks isn't necessarily negative but it's not overwhelmingly good either. The Greek houses are extravagant (at least for sororities).

4 College Senior

Technology: I have my own computer and the network works most of the time very reliably. Also, when I am on campus without a computer I have never had trouble renting one from the library or using one in one of the many buildings.

3 College Senior

Party Scene: I'm not big on going out but there are a lot of places to choose from.

Off-Campus Housing: I lived in a horrible place off campus before moving to my new apartment. The place was not walking distance to campus and was a horrible place to leave. It did not look anything like the model home, which is true for many places in Tallahassee, FL. My current apartment is excellent. It feels just like home and its just walking distance to campus. I don't have to drive to campus and deal with the hassle of finding parking.

Administration: FSU isn't really strict when it comes to things on campus. I believe the reason for this is because they have never really had a serious incident happen on campus to where they have to buckle down on things and take things and security more seriously.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I've never personally lived on Florida State's campus but I have been in one of their dorm, the most expensive one to be exact. The dorms on campus and overpriced and definitely do not match you with someone that you could stand living with.

Transportation: I am from Atlanta, GA. It is very difficult to get a flight out to Atlanta without paying sky high prices for a ticket. There is some bus transportation but not like the Red Coach bus that is a luxury bus and takes you to major cities in Florida. Many people are not from Georgia so it is difficult to catch a ride with a friend or someone that is going home

Health & Safety: We hear many things about the under walk ways that females are getting raped especially at night its not safe to walk alone. We don't really have many individuals who are not students on campus and if they are security immediately handles it. Its hard to get into the dorms unless you have a card that gets access into that particular dorm building

5 College Junior

Majors: I love my particular program. I am a double major in Philosophy and Economics. The Economics program at FSU is very strong and somewhat hard to get into. You have great teachers that challenge you in every way possible. I wouldn't say the same for the Philosophy program. I would have to say that they don't take it as serious as the other programs. There is not even a required GPA to enter this program. Both of these programs are preparing me for law school in their own ways and the pre-law program helps me with many aspects concerning the law field.

3 College Junior

Majors: For Philosophy, there was not any requirements to get into the program. For Economics, you need a 2.5 GPA after getting your A.A. degree and you need to maintain a C average in all your classes. I would consider the Economics program at FSU harder to get into especially if you are doing the Applied Economics program

3 College Junior

Greek Life: I would say being an African-American many of our chapters are suspended on Florida State's campus. With that being said we have to join on FAMU's campus. The rest of the greek life is perfect as far as education on their background and the parties.

Technology: I would say its above average because Florida State is really big on education and tries to provide everyone with what they need to be successful on campus. Most people think that they run out of computers on campus for students around midterms or finals but that is not true. Yes, many people can't find a computer in the library to work on during these times but there are numerous computer labs scattered around campus

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: I never really experienced how visible it is of the drug use in Tallahassee. Yes, you hear about things but its not very noticeable like with alcohol. It is not very hard for underage people to get access to alcohol around Tallahassee. With FAMU & TCC being just minutes away, Tallahassee is a huge party town.

4 College Junior

Diversity: It is very diverse especially with ethnic/racial and religion. Many people are willing to learn about other cultures and put their input on those cultures as well. I believe Florida State is very diverse because we have people who are from all over the country as well as the world or even people who have visited different parts of the world and can share their experiences. At my university, you don't really have a problem with people only communicating with one ethnic/racial group.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: A lot of students decide not to do drugs but there are a few that use marijuana a couple of times a month then there are the groups of students that do cocaine, adderall, ecstasy, just crazy things.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: At Florida State the police teach self defense course as well as including a night bus if someone has get back home late at night.
