Campus Quality: FSU has a beautiful campus. Everything from the student living halls, to the libraries, to the stadium is made with beautiful red brick which makes the campus itself feel like an aesthetic tradition. There is always something going on each day of the week. On campus is a cinema, a gaming lounge with all of the latest consoles, several 24 hour libraries, and restaurants you can eat at most days of the week.

Campus Quality: Unfortunately I went to FSU as a transfer student and did not have the opportunity to live on campus, but as an anthropology major whose department was cut several years ago and is just now making a come back, it seems as if students at FSU have a huge opportunity to get involved with their academic interests. In my case, my friends going to other colleges do not have the kind of opportunities presented to me on a weekly basis. If there is anything I wish to get involved in, there is bound to be an organization on campus related to it.

Diversity: There really is a large amount of diversity at FSU. In a simple walk through campus, you're bound to hear at least three different languages being spoken at almost every corner. There are plenty of people from all walks of life, along with plenty of religious groups on campus representing the great majority of religions I can name. Sexual orientation seems to be pretty open at FSU, and I've found almost everyone to be accepting of it.

Off-Campus Dining: Coming from a relatively small town, I had never had the experience of a place open past 10:00. There are plenty of restaurants in Tallahassee that do not close until 3:00, and sometimes later. Many places deliver, including sushi, grilled chicken, and a ridiculous amount of pizza places (they're all good). Student discounts aren't given often, but when eating out you're generally not spending over $10 unless you're going to a chain restaurant. The best places to check out are Momo's Pizza, Voodoo Dog, and Mr. Roboto.

Technology: Wireless access is available pretty much anywhere on campus, and in my single semester at FSU I have yet to receive any problems with wireless. In terms of computer labs, the only one I have gone to is Strozier Library. The computers on the first floor are usually all taken up, but once you get to the second and third floor, you should not have a problem getting a computer unless it is finals week. Printing on campus is done in the same place as the computer labs. I would definitely recommend having your own printer and laptop, considering a lot of papers are due during finals' week and you don't want to have to struggle to get a computer to write your essays the last week of classes.

Campus Food: I lost five pounds my freshman year because the food was so awful I didn't want to eat.

Parking: It's convenient, but since permits are free it's sometimes difficult to find spots the first few weeks. Once you figure it out it's fine, but you have to keep strictly to your schedule.

Greek Life: There's options, so chose carefully.

Off-Campus Dining: As long as it's before 1:00 am you can get many options close to campus. After midnight there's MacDonald, Starbucks, Whataburger and other fast foods.

Party Scene: The best parties are at the Tenn Strip, security checks IDs at every bar so no underage drinkers are allowed. most clubs and bars are close to college and there's minor interference from the locals. As for parties for underage students there are quite a few greek and house parties which they can attend, not to mention the tailgating and other sporting parties in Tally. Finally for transportation, the students can either carpool or use the public or university buses from Tuesdays to Saturdays.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
