Campus Housing: Learn how to live in community and manage space

Weather: I love Tallahassee because it gives you all four seasons without the snow. It does tend to rain a lot which affects main areas of our campus such as Landis Green and the Union. But it's always fun to through on your anorak and rain boots.

Majors: If I could do it all over again I probably would. Just because I came in as a freshman and your advisors tell you that "no one knows what they want to be as a freshman" and although that is a very common case, I wish I was pushed to do more research, the amount that I do now as an incoming senior, so that I could have been on the right path for a longer period of time. But although it may have taken me longer than I would have wished to figure out what I want to do, taking some of the "wrong" classes taught me a lot. It also let me meet and work with a lot of people I might have never been able to work with and it made me some great connections. I am not too worried about finding a job in my field of finance because I know that I am well prepared from my classes and that FSU has allowed me to make so many great connections and has allowed me to be a part of things such as the Career Fair, opening my eyes to the things that I want and how to get there.

Majors: I am a part of the College of Business and there is no application process, it's a very chill process. You just do well in the prerequisite courses and maintain a GPA of a 2.7 and your in.

Academics: Florida State University has such a diverse amount of majors that students can study along side with amazing professors teaching the classes. They keep the registration process simple, allowing you to use course codes to search a class ahead of time and keep them in a shopping kart, then when it is your window to register you can go to your shopping kart and register for the classes you have already found. Coming in as a freshman getting use to college can be pretty tough but FSU allows study groups within your living halls/dorms to make the transition smooth. There are also many libraries on campus, the most famous one being Strozier, it has six floors including a basement and annexes. It provides computers, wifi, quiet floors, 24 hours, a starbucks, etc. Then there are other smaller libraries such as the music library and Dirac.

4 College Junior

Transportation: There are buses that run throughout the week not only to on campus stops but to off campus apartments as well which are all free for Florida State students. There are also "Night Noles" which is the bus system that runs through out the night also for free to pick up students and drop them off at home after a night of going out to prevent drinking and driving. FSU has also paired up with the company Yellow Cab, making it so that the fare for a taxi is only four dollars with a FSU I.D.

Campus Food: The Florida State University gives many options of meal plans. There are different amount of food priced at different increments depending on how many times you think you'll use it. There are two very popular dinning halls, Suwannee Dinning hall and Fresh Food Company where everyday has different breakfast, lunch, and dinner items available buffet style for students and staff to enjoy. There's also multiple food options in the student friendly Union. The variety of food is appealing to everyone Einstein Bagels, Subway, Pollo Tropical, Pizza Hut, etc. Of course theres Chili's too, which is lively and full of students all the time. It's the best place to grab a bite of food and catch up with friends. There's even two Starbucks on campus for when you are studying and need an extra boost to get through your hours in the library. The Trading Post is a great place to run into in between classes if your in need of a quick snack or soda. The best part about it is you can use Flex bucks at any of these places.

Diversity: The diversity within Florida State University's campus is amazing. Although the FSU's student population does consist of more than half white students, they are constantly accepting of and growing towards making the ethnicity/race of our campus more diverse. The school is 55% women and 45% men which is an amazing to see how equal our campus is with young men and women. Students come from all different economic backgrounds, some only being able to partake in FSU's wonderful education by receiving scholarships, some having their parents pay for it, and some having saved up to pay for it all by themselves. Diversity does not stop at the students though, it leaks into our professors and staff members, into our Athletic department, and our Greek Life. The Florida State University's community believes in inclusion. The Integration Statue in the center of our campus draws a picture of what we all feel. At FSU we are a family and we love and accept one another, always embracing our differences.

Majors: Studying within the College of Business if enjoyable due to the technically advanced classrooms with teachers who are flexible and always willing to help after class and during their office hours. Although the workload is tough and the grading system is strict on prerequisites, the material you learn makes it all worth it. Florida State has one of the most valuable education and these are some of the reasons why.

Majors: Although I have not held an internship so far in college, many of them are very flexible with class schedules and many of them are offered during the summer. Each business holds the variables of pay, time, and responsibilities a little different. I do plan to have an internship next year in order to help me grow as a person, to help me challenge myself and become more aware of the field I plan to work in once I graduate. I'm not concerned about being able to find one. Florida State University holds two career fairs a year allowing you to interact with so many different companies. The College of Business also holds meetings and seminars with speakers from many different companies opening yours eyes to all of the opportunities out there. Even further the College of Business has countless number of student organizations, helping you interact with students with the same future interests as you, having that kind of support puts no doubt in my mind that I have the right guidance to find an internship.

Majors: I would redo it again just because I know more now than I did as a freshman. I want to go to graduate school as a Physical Therapist. I don't have concerns about finding a job.

Majors: When I entered my program, it was easy to get into. But then many students wanted to be in the Exercise Science major and they would eventually change it to something else. So now it has limited access and you have to meet qualifications (like getting certain grades in certain classes).

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: I love our health center so much. We have so much to offer like a clinic, Physical Therapy, Chiropractor, Dentist, etc. There is a lot of crime though. We get emails when crime has happened on campus and it is usually in the middle of the night when people are walking on campus. No one ever gets physically hurt, but their belongings get stolen and some are held at gunpoint.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: A lot of Greek Life students are very involved on campus with non-greek students. A lot of people want to become greek and the pressure of joining a "top tier" fraternity or sorority can be overwhelming and consuming. Some non-greeks dislike greeks and some don't. It depends. Sorority houses can hold anywhere up to 30-80 women. It can be difficult to live in the house depending on the year or on the individual sorority's rules. The rest of the sorority women live off of campus or in on-campus apartments. Fraternity houses are very unclean.

Academics: I love my major and all of the classes it has to offer. My workload can be vigorous but that is a given since I am in a healthcare major. The advisors aren't always the best at offering advice, though.

3 College Junior

Weather: When it rains there's a lot of puddles and mud. The parking lots are mainly dirt so that gets really bad when it rains.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: I love all of the food off of campus. We have a great variety of foods that are close to campus. You probably can't walk to some of them, but buses pass them and it would take a few minutes to drive to them. Prices can vary from $5-$12 a person depending on what you order, but there is a huge selection.

4 College Junior

Technology: Most areas of campus have great wifi and awesome internet speed. Other parts of campus do not get wifi. Also, some dorms need an Ethernet cord, which is kind of inconvenient. But when I am in the library or in a classroom with wifi, it works perfectly.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: My dorm was very small and very old. It made my roommate and me sick constantly and the A/C made our sheets feel damp. Other dorms were pretty good though.

2 College Junior

Parking: You have to have a parking pass, which is free, but parking spots usually fill up by 10:00 AM and students are very disrespectful to other students cars so it is never a surprise if there is a scratch or a dent on your car.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot of new apartments close to campus but they are extremely expensive. Even though they are expensive, they all stay consistent so students either pay a lot of money to live walking distance to campus (in a nice apartment) or live in an "alright" apartment that requires driving or bus transportation.

4 College Junior

Transportation: The bus system to take students to campus is awesome. It goes off campus and it stops at almost every apartment complex that houses students.
