Campus Housing: I've never personally lived on Florida State's campus but I have been in one of their dorm, the most expensive one to be exact. The dorms on campus and overpriced and definitely do not match you with someone that you could stand living with.

1 College Junior

Transportation: I am from Atlanta, GA. It is very difficult to get a flight out to Atlanta without paying sky high prices for a ticket. There is some bus transportation but not like the Red Coach bus that is a luxury bus and takes you to major cities in Florida. Many people are not from Georgia so it is difficult to catch a ride with a friend or someone that is going home

2 College Junior

Health & Safety: We hear many things about the under walk ways that females are getting raped especially at night its not safe to walk alone. We don't really have many individuals who are not students on campus and if they are security immediately handles it. Its hard to get into the dorms unless you have a card that gets access into that particular dorm building

Majors: I love my particular program. I am a double major in Philosophy and Economics. The Economics program at FSU is very strong and somewhat hard to get into. You have great teachers that challenge you in every way possible. I wouldn't say the same for the Philosophy program. I would have to say that they don't take it as serious as the other programs. There is not even a required GPA to enter this program. Both of these programs are preparing me for law school in their own ways and the pre-law program helps me with many aspects concerning the law field.

3 College Junior

Majors: For Philosophy, there was not any requirements to get into the program. For Economics, you need a 2.5 GPA after getting your A.A. degree and you need to maintain a C average in all your classes. I would consider the Economics program at FSU harder to get into especially if you are doing the Applied Economics program

Greek Life: I would say being an African-American many of our chapters are suspended on Florida State's campus. With that being said we have to join on FAMU's campus. The rest of the greek life is perfect as far as education on their background and the parties.

Technology: I would say its above average because Florida State is really big on education and tries to provide everyone with what they need to be successful on campus. Most people think that they run out of computers on campus for students around midterms or finals but that is not true. Yes, many people can't find a computer in the library to work on during these times but there are numerous computer labs scattered around campus

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: I never really experienced how visible it is of the drug use in Tallahassee. Yes, you hear about things but its not very noticeable like with alcohol. It is not very hard for underage people to get access to alcohol around Tallahassee. With FAMU & TCC being just minutes away, Tallahassee is a huge party town.

4 College Junior

Diversity: It is very diverse especially with ethnic/racial and religion. Many people are willing to learn about other cultures and put their input on those cultures as well. I believe Florida State is very diverse because we have people who are from all over the country as well as the world or even people who have visited different parts of the world and can share their experiences. At my university, you don't really have a problem with people only communicating with one ethnic/racial group.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: A lot of students decide not to do drugs but there are a few that use marijuana a couple of times a month then there are the groups of students that do cocaine, adderall, ecstasy, just crazy things.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: At Florida State the police teach self defense course as well as including a night bus if someone has get back home late at night.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: At Florida State we have a large and diverse amount of fraternities to choose from and of course you don't have to join one if you don't have to

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There's always the option to go to the supermarket and purchase food rather than just going to restaurants that are costly

4 College Freshman

Administration: The Florida State campus in Valencia Spain is strict on a no alcohol in the dorms policy as well as no use whatsoever on drugs. It forces us students to go out and party in the city of Valencia rather than just stay at the campus

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I constantly am getting email updates from the director of my program and I feel super informed and even involved even though I'm only a sophomore and barely into the major as it is. The internship/job opportunites are endless and I couldn't be happier with the program I have chosen.

College Sophomore

Majors: I haven't held an internship yet so I'm not really eligible to give my opionons

Drug Safety: I wouldn't say its a huge overall problem but there are definitely problems with drug and alcohol use on the campus

Athletics: Considering Florida State won the national championship this year I would say the fan support and school spirit is at an all time high and every student loves going to games and supporting all varsity supports I would say. Although some are more popular than others

Administration: The campus is strict on the most important things. They try to ensure safeness of everyone as best as possible.

Transportation: The school has a great bus system. Most spots on campus have multiple buses that pass by so you usually do not have to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus. The buses also go by many apartment complexes off campus as well. The app that is available to show where the buses are and they're routes and timing helps a ton.

Scholarships: It is best to get started on applying for financial aid as soon as you can. Do not put it off because it can end up being a very long process. It is important to stay on top of things and to check the status of your aid.

Campus Housing: Although some dorms are extremely small the social aspect makes up for it. You meet so many people living on campus and it is wonderful to be so close to classes, the library, and all your friends.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Students at FSU are very proud of the athletics here. We have a ton of school spirit and love to support all teams. The teams all work hard and have high ratings.

4 College Junior

Weather: The only times the weather affects the campus negatively is when it rains a lot and you have to walk uphill. Besides that the campus provides several spots that are very nice for hanging out outside on nice days. There is space to hang out with friends, play sports, have picnics, and many more things. It helps to socialize and get to know the campus as well.

3 College Sophomore

Technology: The wireless internet is fast but sometimes unreliable. you have to log back on each time even though the network is supposed to remember your information. Sometimes the wireless cuts out and it takes several tries to get back on. Printing isn't too expensive. There are plenty of places to use a computer.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
