Campus Housing: okay for the most part. the newer dorms are hard to get into and all of the dorms are pretty expensive when compared to off-campus housing

Greek Life: pretty good overall. it's a big part of campus life and overall they contribute a lot to the school and community

Overall Experience: so far so good. I can't really find much to complain about, really. Except parking. Parking is a nightmare

Athletics: It's Florida State. Football is king! Our track team is pretty good too. Baseball and Basketball are also a huge part of campus life.

Campus Housing: The worst buildings began closing and being torn down last summer, with Old Dorman and Deviney, now Kellum, and soon Smith.

Campus housing is improving, and even if you get one of the worse dorms, as long as you keep it clean and make an effort to combat some of the things that come with an old building, you'll be okay.

(I live in Smith)

Greek Life: I'm not involved in Greek life and don"t have many friends involved.

Greek life does seem pretty strong here, though.

Health & Safety: It's as good as it can be, but you need to be wary. For example, only the ID of a hall resident allows a person to open the outer door of the hall, but it is easy to wait outside for somone to let you in with them. It's a large, open campus in a big city. Be vigilant.

Overall Experience: I've had some really eye-opening classes with mediocre professors, and some very dry Gen Eds with amazong professors. There's such a variety in content and style across classes that every new class is something different.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I had one professor who purposely tried to fail people but aside from that every other professor I had was great and honestly helpful

Greek Life: It could be improved by offering more greek housing and guidelines to the other greeks aside from just the panhellenic and ifc

Athletics: There is a large variety of different types of athletics. IM, Club Sports and Varsity sports. I just wish walk-ons for varsity sports were better known.

Athletics: Football is huge at FSU and the games are a blast! The whole school really gets behind its athletes of all sports to promote the unconquered lifestyle.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
