Local Area: I love the atmosphere around FSU. Tallahassee is pretty small anyway but it's nice having so many shops, restaurants and places to go right around campus. Railroad square is walking distance from one side of campus and it has a very nice artsy/hippie vibe. FSU is also right next to downtown, which is unfortunate at 5pm Monday through Friday, but it's nice the rest of the time.

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on FSU's campus. There is always campus PD around and I fully support those emergency stands everywhere.

Athletics: Our fan support and school spirit is in my opinion one of best of all universities I have seen. I know football is the big sport around here and sometimes the other sports don't get as much recognition, but we still root for all our teams. The history behind our traditions and our chants is amazing and I've know the songs since I was a little kid. Always and forever a seminole.

Administration: I have never been "a bad kid" so I don't have a problem with how strict campus administration is. Except for parking, there seriously needs to be more parking and less rules on that end.

The professors are very strict on plagiarism and cheating which is expected, because everyone is here to work and no one should just skate by.

Party Scene: Whenever I am not obligated to go to class or work the next morning I usually find some pretty quality parties. I would prefer more of the parties to have food, but I guess that would just get crazy. The best parties I have ever been to would be Heritage Grove or house parties. I do not like the strip and I rarely go. There are far too many people let in, and I don't want to pay $10 to be squished into a hot room that reeks of alcohol and bad decisions.

Campus Food: I try not to eat a lot on campus, for cost reasons, but there are various dining halls scattered throughout the campus. And now we have chickfila which is always a plus. I do enjoy all the variety in the Union as well since there is Subway, Saladworks, Chili's, Eistein's, etc.

Campus Housing: MY DORM EXPERIENCES WERE FINE, NOT GREAT, NOT TERRIBLE, JUST FINE. MY FRESHMAN YEAR I WAS IN A QUAD. INTERESTING GIRLS, BUT NOT REALLY MY LIFELONG FRIENDS TYPE OF PEOPLE. MY SOPHOMORE YEAR I ROOMED WITH A SENIOR, WHOM I RARELY EVER SAW. SHE WAS ALSO WORKING ON HER MASTERS AND WAS VERY CONSUMED BY HER STUDIES. THE DORM WAS DECENT. I HAD MY OWN KITCHEN, WHICH WAS VERY NICE, AS I ENJOY COOKING.

Guys & Girls: A HUGE VARIETY OF STYLES, A DEDICATION TO OUR COLLEGE AND THE EXPERIENCES INVOLVED. GENERALLY FEEL THAT THE STUDENTS AT FSU WANT TO BE THERE AND DO THEIR BEST TO LIVE, ENJOY AND RELISH THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT FSU HAS TO OFFER. I FEEL THAT A VERY LARGE MAJORITY OF OUR STUDENTS LIVE THE VALUES OF GARNET AND GOLD!!

Party Scene: THER ARE FREQUENT PARTIES AND FUN TIMES FOR ALL VARIETIES OF STUDENTS. I AM IN A CHRISTIAN SORORITY AND WE ENJOY GREAT TIMES AMONGST OUR GROUP, BUT WE DONT USUALLY HIT THE BIG PARTY SCENE. WE KNOW WHEN AND WHERE THE PARTIES ARE, BUT WE TEND TO MAKE OUR OWN FUN AND ENJOY SMALLER GROUPS AND GOOD TIMES

Off-Campus Housing: I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO FIND ROOMMATE THROUGH MY SORORITY SISTERS. THREE OF US SHARE A TOWNHOUSE THAT IS OWNED BY ONE OF THEIR PARENTS. THEY ARE GREAT LANDLORDS AND WE ENJOY A GREAT RELATIONSHIP.

Health & Safety: I FEEL VERY SAFE ON CAMPUS. OF COURSE, THERE ARE ALWAYS AREAS OFF CAMPUS, THAT I STAY AWAY FROM. THERE IS A SUFFICIENT POLICE PRESENCE ON CAMPUS AND MANY DIFFERENT ALERT SYSTEMS IN PLACE. AS A FEMALE, I AM USUALLY VERY COMFORTABLE ON CAMPUS. I USE COMMON SENSE AND AVOID UNSAFE SITUATIONS ALSO.

Scholarships: COMPLETE THE PAPERWORK, AND DEFINITELY FOLLOW THROUGH. I DROPPED MY GPA, WHILE STRUGGLING WITH MY CHOICE OF MAJOR AND HAD TO REAPPLY AND BEG FOR FINANCIAL AID TO BE REINSTATED. I AM STILL HOPING AND PRAYING THAT I GET REINSTATED. DONT DROP THE BALL!!!

Off-Campus Dining: I'm not the best reviewer of off-campus restaurants because I have a dining plan on campus, but from what I've eaten off-campus, I've been fairly satisfied.

5 College Freshman

Administration: I wouldn't say my campus is too strict. That doesn't mean we can do whatever we want, but there is a freedom allowed to us as long as we abide by a few rules.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: I had no problems receiving financial aid, all I had to do was fill out the FAFSA application on time and I received what I needed!

Campus Housing: There are pros and cons to living on campus. Pros: Everything is central to you and is only walking distance. I feel like you make better friends when living on campus than off campus as well. It's easier to be involved if you live on campus.

Cons: Living on campus is a bit pricy, and the dorms (or at least the one I'm in) isn't too spacious.

5 College Freshman

Academics: The professors in my school, or at least the ones who have taught me, are absolutely amazing. They are passionate about the subject matter they teach, and are always easy to contact.

Local Area: I love the college town feel of Tallahassee. It's also a very pretty city in terms of nature. There are various parks one can go to. Downtown is also cool because of all the government buildings present because Tallahassee is the state capital.

Health & Safety: A service offered by my school that I think is particularly helpful in maintaining safety is the SAFE Bus program. On all nights from 10pm-3am, buses pick you up after calling in with your location and what you're wearing. It's fast and safe!

Campus Housing: No residence hall is going to be totally awesome. Living in the all girls dorm Jennie Murphree, I imagine our building is cleaner than most. I live in a suite triple with a private (not shared) bathroom and two mini refrigerators. My room is very large compared to other dorm rooms so I guess I am a "lucky" one. However, a meal plan was required for this building.

Local Area: Coming from South Florida, I love the beautiful scenery and the hills. Also, it gets much colder here than South Florida. Try visiting the local parks for biking, fishing, and hiking. You can take an elevator to the top of the capital building to overlook Tallahassee. Governor Square Mall is to go-to shopping mall in the area and has the typical mall department stores and other small stores.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The campus and local police department reacted instantly to the shooting at the library very fast. Regardless of this awful incident, I feel very safe and if something else were to happen I know that campus police will act quickly and efficiently.
