Administration: It depends on the staff in the dorms.

Greek Life: Greek life is a large part of my campus and it is a privilege to be accepted. The Greeks play a big role at Florida State University with organizing social events, volunteering on campus and in the community and many other great things. They are viewed in high regard and many students try very hard to become accepted. The brothers and sisters of the houses are very particular when they are considering acceptance. It is important that they have similar values in order for them to work together and be successful in their causes.

The impact of Greek life on campus is a positive one. They promote leadership, scholarship, brotherhood and sisterhood and service. They are positive role models, community advocates and hard working students that shine a bright light on Florida State University. Having Greek life as part of this campus allows students to really become a part of their community by sharing their talents, knowledge and passion for each and every cause they work toward.

Administration: FSU has a very strict code that students are required to adhere to. I agree and abide by them all.

Health & Safety: I believe that safety on campus is great, except if you're a bike then chances are you'll get stolen! As for off-campus, it really depends on how far away you live.

Party Scene: FSU is a notorious party school, so if you are into that scene it really wouldn't be difficult to find a party. However, if you aren't a big party-goer, the options of weekend activities decreases quite a bit.

Scholarships: The financial aid process took quite awhile and when I needed the aid, I got a small amount that helped, but not quite enough (I'm not complaining, because any little bit helps!). As for scholarships, the only way I've ever found out about them is via honor societies, and even then they are difficult to receive.

Athletics: At FSU football is basically everything! The students and faculty alike enjoy being involved with football for more than the sport. We love school spirit!

Greek Life: Depends on if that's you're thing or not.

Scholarships: I think I'm an exception, but it took me almost 6 months to get my financial aid during my freshman year. Now, as a fourth-semester sophomore, they're asking for the SAME paperwork I spent months getting to them. The process is a COMPLETE headache, but in the end I got more than I needed.

Administration: Unfortunately, with most large colleges, you aren't anything other than a number and a bank account.

Local Area: Some like it, but I'm not too fond it. There's not much to do off-campus that I've found, but that doesn't mean it's not there.

Campus Housing: If you don't have an east side, renovated dorm, you're wasting your money. There's so much off-campus housing in Tallahassee that's close to campus, affordable, and more spacious than the dorms to be worth paying thousands to live on-campus.

Campus Housing: There should not be two people living in the size room that my roommate and I share but I will survive.

Health & Safety: I feel very safe at this school.

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus so I don't know much about this.

Local Area: I don't have a car to venture out off campus a lot but when i do there is usually something fun to do or see.

Party Scene: i am not a huge party goer but from what i have experienced the people know how to throw a good one.

Administration: I believe that the administration is doing a fine job.

Off-Campus Dining: Cost of off campus dining varies, the closest places to campus a re moderately priced and a not too far walk from campus. The discounts are limited though and they don't have too great a variety.

Scholarships: I only applied for financial aid my freshman year and I didn't qualify. I haven't applied since.

Greek Life: Definitely plenty to do even if you aren't apart of Greek life. Greeks here typically have a negative view of those not in Greek life (GDIs), which does cause a slight rift between students but it's not too big of a deal.

Majors: I haven't had an internship yet but I plan on getting one. In today's job market it's crucial to have done at least one internship to really be considered for a job.

Majors: The only requirements for the Computer Science department is that you maintain a GPA above 2.5 which is very doable.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments.
