Majors: From what I've seen the social work major is very welcoming. The only downside is that the college of social work is all the way in the stadium which means you either are gonna get crazy shredded walking there everyday or you are gonna take the bus. Which is free.

Athletics: Oh my, the sports here are a sports fan's wet dream. FSU has the #1 football team as of this post. If you decide not to go to a football game during gameday you will notice that the dorms are empty, the library is dead and the bars and stadium are packed. There is a lot of school spirit. And if you like playing there are many options like Ultimate Frisbee, Quidditch, Battleship, Kendo, and all that jazz.

Academics: Haven't gotten into my major yet but academics are awesome.

Academics: You have no excuse to fail a class at FSU. I don't care if you're taking Neurobiogical Quantum Physics with a Pinch of Electrical Engineering there are so many resources. The professors I have had make themselves avaliable. Those that don't should be avoided and are easily avoided. Even if you do end up with a bad professor there are TA's and the ACE Learning studio which tutors like every subject.

Campus Food: Nothing special tastes fine. If you are picky don't get a meal plan. If you don't eat a lot or if you will have time to cook don't get a meal plan. If you can't cook get a meal plan for your first year at least.

Scholarships: I'm not getting a lot from the actual school. I got most of it from the federal aid and bright futures.

Guys & Girls: For the typical person the student body is very diverse. However if you're from somewhere like Miami it will be less diverse then what you're used to. The plurality of students identify as Christian, white, workout, and enjoy a party. But notice it's the plurality and not the majority. There are douche bags and nice people. Pretentious snobs and those who are glad to be here. Great thing about a big school is that you can avoid people easily. So in all it's great.

Off-Campus Housing: Many students choose to live off campus. Many options and you can take the bus almost anywhere.

Health & Safety: As long as you stay on campus you'll be fine. There are bad areas as with any place. DO NOT LIVE IN DEGRAFF the area around that dorm is sketchy and you shouldn't walk there alone during the night.

Off-Campus Dining: I don't eat off campus often. But there are great local options and the typical food chains if you like that.

Greek Life: When you are a member of Greek life it is probably to get into the better parties. The houses seem pretty nice. Most people don't bother with Greek life though.

Majors: the program teachers and program's administrator can improve by listening to the student circustances instead of painting everyone with the same brush , I feel that they care more about keeping their job than addressing the student needs.

Scholarships: Going into the finacial aid office was pleasant as isues were addressed once you spoke with a representative. Improvement can be made with services over the phone. It takes too long to talk to someone and once the phone is answered, the hold time exceeds 30 minutes, not acceptable.

Administration: It varies based on the issues, and I can't speak for dorm life since I've never lived on campus.

Off-Campus Housing: There are plenty of places to meet various price ranges, just be careful about staying in South Side or French Town (very close to campus). The renting market isn't great across the nation, so it's a bit harder now than it used to be. Find a couple of people to be roommates and you'll be fine.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
