5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: In the semester I've been in there I have never had any problem and I really feel safe on campus

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: For me Engineering Day is one of the best days to look for opportunities in the Engineering College

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Very enjoyable and great learning experience

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: It is pretty big and well at least from 10 people 3 or 5 are greeks

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Not all the sports have available a facility but the wide use of the other facilities makes it bearable

Overall Experience: The variety of majors is incredible and the college experience is enjoyable.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love my school, and don't disagree that it's one of the best college experiences out there. I just wish that my professors and other instructors (mostly grad students) cared more and had more initiative towards aiding their students with grades. It was my first semester in college this Fall, and I would have appreciated it a little more if my professors had made the transition a little less painful. The courseload was understandable, but the level of support was severely upsetting.

Health & Safety: I feel very safe ON campus, but my dorm is the only one OFF campus and the surrounding area is a bit... fishy. Just have a few bucks on hand to give to suspicious people or homeless when you're off campus. It's actually a lot safer than most cities. And campus security is great! There are light/emergency poles almost every 100 feet!

Overall Experience: I can't account for all of the professors on campus, of course, but the ones I've had have been very knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects, which makes them fun to learn from. The classes themselves are... decent, I guess. Sometimes boring, but what isn't? They're mostly easy to pass, so long as you respect the professor and pay attention in classes. Class size is great, because even if they seem big on the first day (when you have to go to class or be removed from the roster) massive amounts of slackers stop showing up starting on day two.

Campus Housing: My room is bigger than my brother's at UCF and my friend's at USF, so it's got that going for it. The building as a whole is kept in decent shape, but the bathrooms in the suites are UNGODLY. My roommate tried to bleach the shower and there was still mold. Also, the floor of her closet leaks through the ceramic tiles whenever the tower turns on.

Overall Experience: FSU is a very social school, with lots of parties and dating, etc. Being that I am not a particularly social person, it's a bit overwhelming at times. I spend a lot of time in my room, because many of the students resemble the "awesome popular kid" type that I've never gotten along with before, which is frankly terrifying. Otherwise, the campus is perfect for outdoor reading and relaxation. Professors are great and passionate. Class sizes are small once the party crowd fails to show up! It's a wonderful school, and most of its faults are my own, so... GO FSU!

(PS: I've never been into football or team rivalries, but since attending FSU, I've grown to properly despise UF.)

Greek Life: I am a member of Kappa Sigma. I very much am happy I made the decision to join.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Everyone loves the noles. We aim to win it all every single year.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I am on my way to being prepared to fulfill a career I will love!

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There are so many health initiatives on campus to keep our students safe and healthy!

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Class sizes can be huge (500+) but get smaller the further you get into your major. There are many brilliant people who will teach you but the TAs are not some of them.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are many options the career center gives you to help you succeed and better prepare you for your future.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It's all about who you live with. Luckily they are tearing down the terrible dorms because they were awful. There are many nice ones though. Definitely a first year must .

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: A lot of money and many nice houses and cars. At least they donate money to charitable organizations.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The Athletics are incredible. A lot of money goes into our athletics.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: FSU is a great school. There are many great programs, some more difficult than others. Overall a great place to further your education.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The FSUPD are very active and helpful. I always see officers going around campus. When the shooting happened last year, the police were there in record time and were trained well enough to diffuse the threat.

Overall Experience: The professors are very professional, and they work hard to make sure their students understand the material. They have office hours every week, and offer other opportunities for students to seek help when needed.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
