Campus Housing: Bryan and Landis hall are the best. Kellum and Salley are the worst. amenities are average, kitchen, lobby, given furniture, etc. Social atmosphere is better in the smaller residence halls, cost is reasonable, convenience depends on where your dorm is to proximity to what you want (classes, union, etc.), housing process was simple.

Overall Experience: Courses are a mix of easy As and extremely challenging. No matter what, the professors or TA's will always be there ready to help you in any way if you are willing to take initiative to learn. There is a large variety of classes to be taken, and class sizes range from 20 students to 200 students.

Health & Safety: The police are always there to take care of problems. Students and faculty's safety is number one priority on campus. Security is very efficient and quick.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: To me, it is quaint yet lovely. Many outdoor activities can be done. The people are the friendliest in the world. There are many fine arts and cultural events available. Shopping isn't that great, but it is enough. Safety is impeccable. No nearby professional sports.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports are huge here. Campus revolves around them on game days, and school spirit is always high for sports. Everyone is active and participates in athletics some way or another.

4 College Freshman

Administration: They give a lot of leniency, yet their main focus is the safety of the students. You don't feel withheld from anything or bombarded with restraints.

Off-Campus Dining: A lot of local places that have great food for good prices. some are nearby, most are driving distance though.

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: Parties happen every night. They are tons of fun, especially at Pots or the Strip. It definitely makes students love the school more.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: The city is practically run by college students. It's not the safest area but it has a lot to offer. There is always something to explore.

Scholarships: The financial aid office is a nightmare but other than that as long as you have good test scores from high school and keep your GPA up you will receive a fair amount of financial aid. They also offer many student loans.

Athletics: I have never loved football so much before attending FSU. You hear the word "undefeated" at least once a day. Nothing brings the students together more than football season, it's amazing.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Breaking school policies always have consequences that a student must do or else they will be given an academic hold, making one unable to register for classes.

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: You can find a party pretty much any day of the week. I always have a good time going out.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: As I said earlier it's mainly chain restaurants but it's easy to find something quick and cheap. I don't eat out much because I have a meal plan that I take advantage of or cook at my dorm.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I liked many of my professors and thought they did a great job teaching any material that we would be tested on. They also gave us plenty of time for papers and always helped with anything that was unclear.

Off-Campus Housing: I do not currently live off campus but many of the off campus apartments are new and nice. They have many close to campus but they are somewhat expensive for my budget.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I feel that Greek life is a great way to meet people like you and gives you many opportunities to better yourself and the community. Some non-Greeks feel that it's "buying your friends" but most just feel that it's not for them and don't hold many negative feelings towards them. I love my chapter and have met so many amazing people that inspire me everyday.

Scholarships: Doesn't always cover everything. Sometimes a lot is needed to pay out of pocket. Look for scholarships!

Off-Campus Housing: It's totally worth it. Everyone, except for freshmen, live on off-campus housing apartments. Much more personal space, you can room with friends, and you truly get the feel of being an independent grown up. There are hundreds of apartments advertised that are near campus. Walking distance or on a bus route that goes through campus.

5 College Junior

Majors: My program is extremely competitive. I am very confident in my program and those administrative in it to help me get an internship. The rate of internship in my major is 50%, but I feel the school is preparing me well enough to be in that 50%. The workload is tough, a lot of chemistry, organic chemistry, biology. You really need to be interested and dedicated to this area to do well.

Off-Campus Dining: Whatever you want, you can find it in the city of Tallahassee. There is numerous locally owned restaurants and chains. Prices range from the fast food to 5 star restaurants. There are discounts in some local places, coupons are generally handed out on campus or around apartment complexes.

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Every girl dresses up for classes, no messy outfits as if they just got out of bed. Everyone is very fashionable. Social outings are huge interests of the students. Going out to bars and clubs, especially football tailgates.

Campus Housing: Depending on the dorm, you are minutes from classes, the union, library, bookstore, etc. Most dorms are at the heart of campus which is extremely convenient; upperclassmen dorms are a little further out from the center of campus. Housing process is super easy. Dorms are ok, you're paying for what you get. The newer, more expensive ones are worth the money. They are nicer and you have a lot more personal space.

Overall Experience: From personal research, graduating from FSU you'll earn about $2500 more than other Florida Universities. The alumni network is huge here as it is one of the major Florida Universities. There is definitely superiority from graduating from a respectable University such as this one, which will help in job prospects after graduation. There are many many opportunities and workshops to help improve your skills for jobs and applying for jobs.

5 College Junior

Academics: I attended another University before transferring to FSU and there is a major difference. The classes are more challenging with a greater focus of the grade on exams. Professors are amazing here, they are all nice and extremely helpful. The classrooms are all nice and provide new technology for better learning.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
