Health & Safety: Rape is a problem on campus and there was a shooting in one of the libraries. However, they have a really good RAD program.

Diversity: There's certainly plenty of racial and ethnic diversity, the LGBT community seems to be pretty open, and there certainly is a mixture of liberals and conservatives.

Drug Safety: It's a party school so there is definitely an alcohol problem but living off campus it isn't too bad.

Overall Experience: Despite the Anthropology Department being rather small and still growing there was enough options to get me by and I liked the teachers. The class sizes however were too large for some of the upper level ones.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Tallahassee durring football season, especially, is a sea of garnet and gold, students, alumni, and children young and old fill the campus to support the seminoles.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Being at FSU has allowed me to grow in so many ways. I could not imagine being at any other school because this school has taught me so many things outside of the classroom. I have learned how to be a leader, an honorable person, and most importantly one who will persevere through great obstacles to achieve a goal.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
