Technology: The computers provided by FSU in the libraries and computer labs are very up to date. They are fast, effective, and usually plenty of them where ever a student needs one.

Parking: The parking is HORRIBLE at FSU. There are too many students and no spaces! And the tow truck companies will tow you in a second! Thank the lord there is a valet comapany on campus now! Sounds crazy but it's AMAZING! its only 5$ to valet your car and it is right in the middle of everything. I don't mind paying 5$ to ensure that I get class on time and dont have to waste time and gas trying to find a spot!

Party Scene: The night life is mediocre. There are only a few clubs and bars that everyone goes to on particular nights. Tallahassee is really lacking new clubs and lounges would be nice to see around here. Every bar is small and crammed with a ton of students.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: The school is pretty strict. Nothing illegal allowed on campus

Campus Food: The food on campus is alright. The restaurants are good but the dining halls aren't so great.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Parking permits are free as well as parking. About 7 garage, lots of smaller lots, lots of meters

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports are all incredible at FSU. The atmosphere at the games no matter what sport is always ridiculously fun.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: Food Options – Two on campus dining halls, many restaurants like Chillis, hot dog stands, a fresh foods market and much more.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I have not found the entrance process into my program difficult at all. The most difficult challenge was trying to decide which major to seek. FSU has incredible programs in all areas of study. I am excited about my double major in International Studies and Spanish. I hope you can help me financially so I may continue here at FSU as an out of state student. This is very important to me.

Off-Campus Housing: My experience with off famous housing has been much better than on campus housing. The apartments can be located really close to school or far away. All of the apartments are fairly new and offer many terrific amenities such as exercise rooms, study rooms and pools. The cost seems fair but not inexpensive. Most parking is secured and safe,

Campus Housing: The people working in the housing department at FSU are very helpful. There are not enough on campus dorms for all freshmen so I was placed in temporary housing for a month or so. There were four of us living in a lounge with two metal bunk beds and two rolling clothes bars for closets. Once we moved into the dorm, three of us lived in very tight quarters. If there was problem the housing person would take care of it promptly.

Majors: Great Program – I enjoy being in the biology program at Florida State University. It has a nice feel to it, it also has tons of opportunities for undergraduate research and studies. There is also tutoring available at many of the buildings on campus for students that need it. I've only been in the program for one year so I've only had a limited experience with the program this far.

Campus Food: Not That Great – I live off campus so I seldom eat on campus. From what I've heard, I'm really not missing that much. The food is of mediocre quality at both main dining halls and their was a rumor that there was an ecoli outbreak at the dining halls and at some of the restuarants around town.

Academics: Professors Are Quite Helpful – Although I've only had a limited number of science related classes it seems that a majority of the professors are relatively helpful, they hold office hours for students who need help, and frequently stop and ask if students have questions during their lectures regarding the material.

Overall Experience: Love This Place – FSU is the best place to go to school in the south! It's located in the capital of Florida and it is a sweet, charming college town. You definitely have to learn to balance your social and academic life early, because if you don't you will might have a rough time here. Overall great school, great athletics, and one amazing experience.

Academics: Wonderful Place to Beverly – Florida State is a wonderful school with plenty of organizations and majors to choose. The campus atmospere is probably like every other college and is always filed with events. The sport management program is great and the professors are always available to help.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Great Way to Meet People! The best part of FSU housing is definitely the Living Learning Communities. They make meeting people so much easier, and your overall college experience so much more fun. If you are interested in an LLC, definitely apply for one!

Technology: If You Need a Computer, You Can Find One – There are PLENTY of computers on campus. It's just a matter of finding them. Of course the library is usually crowded, but people are usually never in the Johnston Ground. As for Wi-Fi, the dorms don't have it. Every where else does, but not the dorms. That's definitely frustrating when many devices run solely on Wi-fi.

Academics: Depends Who You Get – Make sure to do your research before picking classes. The College of music is full of great professors and TA's but also some not so good ones. A lot of the time, many of the applied music TA's are not trained in education, but solely in performance which can be very frustrating.

Diversity: Diverse, Like the Rest of Florida – FSU is fondly referred to as the Berkeley of the South. We have a smattering of political backgrounds, from Tea Partiers to the leftist radicals (who throw a neat Radical Rush biannually); student unions for various religious groups, ethnicities and sexual orientations (think PRIDE Student Union) and are working to be the most veteran friendly school in the Southeast. Students range from rednecks that crawled out of Wakulla to rich kids from Miami-Dade.

Campus Food: Eh, It's College Food. Fresh Food was my jam as a freshman. Since I lived at Salley Hall, it was just a hop, skip and a jump away. The inside of the Suwannee Room is reminiscent of Hogwarts' dining hall, too. You can use the flexbucks or Garnetbucks at most of the eateries on campus, which is good for a little variety. Avoid the stirfry place unless you're getting sushi.

Academics: At Least It's Not UF. A fairly average experience compared to other schools I've attended. My own department didn't have an advisor and so our snarky gay secretary did all of the advising (and badly!), the professors were well-trained but often disinterested in your problems, and the work load wasn't terrible either. As for study spots, Club Stroz! All the kids are on uppers like at a real nightclub and they hand out sunglasses and other fun things during exam weeks. (The Starbucks at Stroz is double countered and 24 hours, too.)

Greek Life: The greek life on campus is overly active, sometimes overwhelming non greek student. For the most part they are socially the most important thing on campus, a lot of people are looked down on for not being a part of greek life.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee.
