Academics: Psychology Major – Being a psychology major the classes aren't the most challenging but they are extremely interesting. For somebody like myself who is dedicated to a career in psychology and criminal justice there is nothing more fascinating.

Drug Safety: A Party School, With Smart Students – Though FSU is known as a party school, the students who attend FSU are smart and have worked hard to be where they are. Though students have lots of fun outside of their academic schedules, the students do take their school work seriously for the most part and have a genuine drive to do well in life and be sucessful in the workforce.

Campus Food: Wide Variety of Choices – When it comes to food at FSU, there are many choices. There are two very good dining halls on campus, however after eating at them for a semester they tend to get very old. They do offer very healthy options which is not typical for a dining hall. There are a few restaurants on campus such as Quiznos, Chili's, Papa Johns, and Pollo Tropical if you ever get tired of the dining halls. There's also Mom and Pop's hot dog stand which is pretty good! Students often hand ou these coupon books for free, make sure to grab one because they are filled with food specials for local restaurants!

Academics: FSU offers a wide variety of majors and has many wonderful professors, however I will say that it does not have a lot of graduate programs. FSU offers a wide variety of classes, class times, and types of classes. It is possible to take all online classes, hybrid classes, and in-class classes. I think that the workload at FSU is average for college classes at a university.

Weather: Rain or Shine – Take your pick, it is either pouring or raining cats and dogs. One great investment would be a pair of rain boots, an umbrella is too much hassle in the wind. When it is sunny it is extremely hot, so it is great weather for getting your tan on. The best month of weather is fall, it is absolutely beautiful around campus.

Athletics: Sports Are Not MY Thing – The area of sports is not really something that I have became involved in, but there are lots of opportunity to join the scene. The football games are madness, yet fun for those who enjoy sports. The entire campus joins together to support the football team...even when they lose. It is a great way to join all different types of individuals together in one place to root for the same thing!

Academics: Retail Merchandising – In the college of human sciences, retail merchandising has really started to make a name for itself. We are getting new classrooms and new offices for our advisors. The coursework is interesting, yet understandable and enjoyable. The college offers lots of help with job matching, and helps to steer students in paths for success. I am very pleased with my major and the college of human sciences.

Campus Quality: Has 1 of 2 College Circuses in Existance, 24 Hr. Starbucks – FSU has the one of only 2 college circuses in existance. They're AMAZING, they perform at Callaway Gardens in GA during the summer and hold performances during the school year. Our 24/6 library contains what I believe is the only 24 hr. Starbucks in the country. It's great for all-nighters or even late-nighters!

Parking: I don't have a car and I'm almost glad. Everyone tries to carpool on trips to Wal-Mart (since cars are the only way to get there) because no one wants to move their car. There are no fines for parking, but it's almost always impossible to find a spot. It's a walking campus with campus buses so a car isn't necessary, but it's hard to get certain places and do certain things without one.

Academics: Great Everything – The registration process is so easy, and the workload depends on how many hours you take. There are tons of independent study options and the professors are all awesome!

Campus Housing: Some Dorms Great, Some Awful, Pricing Ok – Some dorms are nice-very clean and roomy. Most have very old buildings so things break down all the time. Needs a ton of renovations inside, but they keep doing roadwork instead where it's not needed. Social atmosphere is great! Each dorm is conveniently located near something-and usually near other dorms. One dorm area is near restaurants and science side of campus, one area is near the stadiums, circus, practice fields, etc. The cost is OK, it could be lower.
The housing process needs work. Random roommates needs some sort of quiz, I got the WORST ever and was bullied until I moved.

Technology: The computers in libraries are almost always full, and gets even worse during finals and midterms week. The internet on campus can get really slow, sometimes it doesn't even work and that makes doing homework difficult. Half the campus needs an ethernet cable to access the internet and that makes doing projects uncomfortable and limits where you can be in the room.

Academics: Great Opportunities – There are tons of experiments to take part in, whether you run the experiment or are the experimentee. There's a lot of study abroad and research opportunities as well.

Greek Life: If you are a person, you are in a frat or sorty. Wow, I can't even imagine someone not doing this. What is this I don't even! Everyone is drinking and getting their sexual energy on all the time. Wow.

Health & Safety: Safe Safe Safe Safe Safe – Safe safe safe. What more can I say? There have only been a few rapes, muggings, shootings, and car jackings on and around campus. Its so perfect here. Its like Dulac from that movie, you know the one, Shrek.

Academics: Everything is wonderful. I love everything. Everyone is so helpful, too! Everybody wants to see you succeed. Everything is within ones reach, one must only apply themselves. Everything is really great here - everything and everyone.

Local Area: Tallahassee Time – Tallahassee is a small town but with lots to do. Its neighboring schools are Florida AM university and Tallahassee Community College. The students interact with each other through parties that often happen all the time.

Academics: Help at Your Doorstep – I just finished my freshman year this past spring and I am so pleased with how it went. I went into college not knowing what I wanted my career to be and was open to all sorts of possibilities. FSU offers so many different majors and you can find help anywhere you look. I started in the Exploratory major and tried a variety of classes ranging from Pre-Med all the way to Broadcast Journalism. My advisor was always there to help and offer assistance in any way that I needed. He always responded to my emails, phone calls, or walk-in appointments. Florida State's Career Center is by far one of the most helpful places on campus. Esteemed faculty work one-on-one with students helping them find internships, job interviews, and even help with your resume. The faculty were tremendous and the advice was exactly what I needed to help me declare my double major in Professional Sales and Marketing.

Diversity: Many Different Cultures – Florida State University offers a wide range of clubs, organizations, greek life, intended majors, etc. I have participated in many different things on campus and I must say that you will meet people ranging from various sexual orientations to religious beliefs all the way to the color of an individual's skin. Yet among all these differences, I have never had a bad experience with another culture or diverse group. I have gotten the chance to meet so many different amazing people that I otherwise would have never met if I hadn't attended Florida State University.

Scholarships: Just Like Any Other Process – The process of getting financial aid is pretty generic no matter what school yo attend. There's always gonna be a wait time, there's always gonna be a line but for the most part whatever you need done will get done.

5 College Junior

Transportation: The campus routes are extremely helpful. All routes usually take you directly where you need to go. Whether it's to your off campus housing or to the other side of campus. The fact that it's free makes it even better you never have to worry about having the right amount of quarters

5 College Junior

Academics: There are an unlimited amount of programs, study abroad opportunities, and classes that a student can take. If you can imagine it chances are there's a class you can take for it

Academics: Biological Sciences – The professors in the biological science major are so smart! Each professor knows what he or she is teaching and they teach their subjects well. There are always at least two TAs in the chem help room at all hours of the day, and there is an entire library at FSU dedicated to sciences. Any time I need help with studying for an exam or a lab experiment I chck out the library for extra help. Campus is so beautiful all year round and there are always opportunities to meet new and exciting people in the same major as me. Almost every day I receive new emails on my FSU account about new job/internship openings, and with the help of the academic advisors they plan out a schedule that helps me have the chance to work and to study.

Overall Experience: Great College Life – FSU really has a great atmosphere, good classes, and overall it has been a great experience for me and I would do it all over again

2 College Senior

Academics: Unsatisfactory registration process and blackboard site

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
