5 College Junior

Scholarships: I haven't had any problems with the financial aid process. I submitted the documentation that I needed when I received my Florida Bright Futures Scholarship and also Florida Prepaid, and I was good to go.

3 College Junior

Administration: I haven't had any personal run-ins with the FSU Police Department, but I always see them cruising around at night making sure everything is safe on campus.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Drug Scene – There is some drug use on Florida State's campus, but I don't put myself around people who use them.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: The bus system at FSU is great!!! You can virtually get anywhere at anytime. They are on campus and off campus. Also, the airport is very close and plane tickets are cheap.

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek Life at FSU provides coutless opportunities to do community service and meet new people. Everyone is excited to help out around the community. I believe Greeks and Non-greeks get allong very well! Also, the housing is great heritage grove is a community of frat houses and its perfect for attending parties.

Athletics: Fan Support – I find that FSU has the best fan support for all sports that they participate in. It is so nice to be amongst a group of students that respect and enjoy our college and our team so much! We are there with them through thick and thin and we all have so much faith in our teams!

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: Campus Life – I have no experiences of other campuses so I have nothing to compare it to...

3 College Junior

Academics: The Meteorology program is great. The only thing negative is the inconsistencies of he faculty of what/how the subjects are being taught.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Fun and Lots to Do – Tallahassee is a fun city and there is usually something to do on any given night of the week.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: Good Scholarship Opportunities – There are numerous scholarships available if you look for them, and often the teachers announce scholarship opportunities in class. The financial aid process is easy as long as you don't mind opening up a Suntrust account - all financial aid is deposited there, otherwise a check is mailed to you.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Good Security Measures – The pathways are well-lit, and every few feet there is a safety emergency pole in case you need assistance. They send out FSU Alerts any time there is a need for students to know of emergency situations. However, I would not advise going out late at night because despite all these measures there are people who might mess with you as emails have proven. Just use common sense and you should be safe.

Scholarships: To get financial aid from the school work really hard in high school so FSU will offer you money to attend the university. I haven't reieved too much financial aid. Most of what I've gotten has been through the state and individual scholarships I have one. Look for very specific scholarships pertaining to your religion, extracurricular activites, major and interests.

Off-Campus Housing: In Tallahasse it is hard to find a good apartment for a good price. I plan on living on campus for my first three years. Finding a parking space on campus when trying to reach a class on time is very hard to do. Most people leave their house or apartment and hour or so before class starts so they have time to drive all over campus in search of a parking space. As the year progresses parking becomes easier to find as the upper classmen decide to not attend class.

Technology: At Florida State University, there are numerous computers at the library and if you need help with tech problems while doing a project there are computer labs all over school. Durring exam week I would advise avoiding them though because they get a little crazy. For the most part computers are easily accessed.

Campus Housing: Campus Life – Living on campus at Florida State University is something I prefer. I am within walking distance from everything; food, class, the health center, gyms and local hangout centers. It's much better than driving to school and hour before class to find a parking space. I like the community style dorms because you are able to meet more people in your dorm. Some of the dorms aren't prefered but usually there is always one that you are thankful you aren't in.

Scholarships: Good Process – Very helpful service and efficient.I was able to get what I need without any conflict.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: It's Easy as One, Two, Three! Financial aid assistance is not hard to find. The office of financial aid is very helpful and has flexible hours. I received financial aid timely and easily. The process itself was quick and took a click of a button. The office also informs students of scholarships! The money I was lucky to receive assists with my rent and books, which takes the stress off my parents. I recommend applying for financial aid even if your parents are at a stable income, with the economy anything can occur. I applied as a precaution and ended up needing it dramatically. My parents took a huge loss of income, so its better to be safe than sorry.

Weather: RAIN RAIN GO AWAY! The local weather is one I had to adapt to. During spring semester an umbrella and rain boots are necessary for my wardrobe. It rains often and becomes muggy. During the fall and winter months, the temperature drops to the 20's, which is something I do not like experiencing unless I get to see snow, which we do not. Classes are never cancelled due to weather. Summers are beautiful, but the beach is over an hour away.

Off-Campus Dining: Good, Lots of Choices – There's alot of fastfood places and restaurants in the Town Center close to the campus. The prices there are affordable and the service is good.

3 College Student

Campus Food: Good but Not Huge Selection – The Cafeteria is clean and has decent food selection but its always the same items. The service is good your not in line for a long time.

Parking: MY SPOT! Parking at Florida State University is competitive. The amount of parking spots in relation to the students is considerably low. Certain parking garages can not be attempted for days each week, due to over night parking. When you are able to obtain a precious spot, leaving campus becomes difficult for fear that tomorrow you will not be so lucky. The permit cost is already figured into our tuition and is not too expensive. However, fines for delayed meters are very expensive. Some students are forced to park illegally due to the amount of off campus living and in return are fined. The convenience of parking spaces are close to main buildings on campus, which is a great advantage for attending classes on time or in peak times. The need for a vehicle is dependent upon the living situation. Most students whom live off campus, find it necessary to drive to campus, because of the slow bus transportation.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Very Helpful – The Financial Aid people were very helpful to me when I had a few questions, however in the end I did not get any scholarships from the various sources- something I hope to change as soon as possible.

4 College Freshman

Administration: The Police are very strict and undergo a matter in all seriousness. I put my faith in their hands when having to do something about an offense.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: It seems nearly impossible to get the correct funds that are awarded to you.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: DRUG SCENE – The drug scene at my school is very low and kept at a minimum.
