Academics: The professors at FSU are all extremely qualified in every way possible. They have vast experience working in their fields as well as in educating, and they spread their gained knowledge to the classroom. They are usually on point with curriculum.

Party Scene: Party Time – There is literally something from everyone! You don't just have to go to clubs, you can go to open mic nights, festivals, house parties, campus parties, musical, and everything else you can think of.

Campus Food: Good Eats – There's plenty of places to eat on campus from traditional restaurants like Chillies to Pollo Tropical, Sushi and of course the traditional cafeterias placed all throughout campus to ensure you get all those nutritional needs. FSU even has food truck vendors such as hand made taco stands, mom & pops hot dogs, and a veitnamese truck with food plates for 4 bucks!!

Academics: English Creative Writing – This program offers amazing seminars and events for English and Writing majors. This year we even had an open forum discussion with Anthony Bourdain which was amazing and he spoke for 1hr 45 mins answering questions and just talking with the students. FSU is home to several prestigious writers and many of the professors and TA's have been published in well known writing magazines and are affiliated with several major network television stations. The professors all strive really hard to help the students and most importantly they challenge each student to maximize their full potential.

Academics: workload is not that much, they rely heavily on tests so you have to know what you are doing because there is really no easy work

2 College Senior

Academics: Not Rigorous – The economics department should really consider having more than just college algebra as a requirement. You cannot learn economics the way it's supposed to be learned without at least multivariable calculus and linear algebra.

Weather: weather is usually pretty nice...can get cold in the winter rime though which causes a not very pleasent walk to class if you dont like the cold.

3 College Senior

Administration: School is pretty strct....but have been to much stricter schools

Academics: I am a dietetics major at FSU amd think it is a great program for someone who is interested in foods and nutrition and the clical aspects of the two

Parking: I have never owned a car during my time at FSU, however I have heard a lot from other people about the parking issue. A decal to park on campus is expensive. You can be ticketed easily if you park in the wrong place (which isn't always clear). You don't need a car on campus. There are not many parking spaces available considering the ratio of students to parking spaces. It is prudent to come to campus early to find a parking spot.

Technology: The existing computer labs at FSU are nice. I often use the undergraduate lab in the psychology building. The only problem is that there often not enough computers available. The computers in the larger libraries are also nice. The speed is generally fast enough for my needs. Printing has improved over the years that I attended FSU. It has become more reliable. The internet network has always been reliable, as well as internet access. I have always had a personal computer, and would say that it is necessary. There are not always computers available to you.

Academics: I enjoy attending Florida State University for my major and minors very much. My major is psychology. The workload and curriculum are very manageable. It has not been very challenging to get A's in my classes. The teachers care about the subject and in turn the students do too. The facilities are new and complete with everything needed. The Psychology Department at FSU has a lot of psychology research labs available. This provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience in conducting scientific research.

Academics: Tutoring Is Great, Space, No So Much. In Strozier library at Florida State there is a tutor center that allows you to get free tutoring from other students. It is very helpful and beneficial, yet the space in the library is very limited. Therefore, people are usually fighting for tables and seats.

Health & Safety: Somewhat Safe – It is safe in the daytime but even though the university has been taking measures there are pockets here it is not safe to be out alone at night. Robberies are more common.

Off-Campus Dining: Spread Out – Restaurants are spread all over Tallahassee and not just concentrated in one area. My favorite are Genghis grill and Azu. In Genghis grill you basically mix up what ever yo ant to eat in a bowl and they stir-fry it for you. Azu is an oriental restaurant with moderate prices. The ambiance is really good

Diversity: In my experience, I have found that FSU is extremely diverse. In every area of study, I have found people of not only many different ethnicities but of different socioeconomic standings, political, religious beliefs and sexual orientations as well. Overall, I would say the student population is not only diverse, but generally accepting as well.

Campus Quality: Florida State University successfully manages to provide excellent facilities for every area of atheletics, academia and misc recreation. Atheletic centers, student centers, and libraries are not only abundant but well-kept and easily accessible for any student. There are thousands of activities available at no or low-cost. These include on-campus bowling, the art center, various recreational facitilies (like Leach) and many others. And to top it all off, FSU is an extremely beautiful campus!

Overall Experience: Florida State is an awesome school. It has so much to offer and is outstanding academically. People tend to get caught up in the party scene but for me, I found that FSU offers a ton of other ways to have fun than to go to a frat house. I look forward to going to class everyday and despite being from Virginia, FSU makes me feel right at home.

Local Area: Fun City – Tallahassee is a very pretty city. The town is divided between FSU and Florida A&M. With the state capitol right up the street there is a strong political community on campus and a very active debate team. There are a ton of mountain biking trails and outdoor parks, as well as lots of locally owned "mom & pop" type restaurants.

Guys & Girls: Lots of Greek Life – At FSU there are a ton of Fraternities and Sororities and it seems like the majority of students are enrolled in one. I am not personally in one, nor do I have the desire to, but between all the different frats and sororities there is a lot to do and always something happening.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Long, Long Online Forms – The financial aid process at Florida State was not the smoothest. After filling out the FAFSA forms online, I was informed that I was only eligible for a loan. As for scholarships such as Bright Futures, the rewards are automatically transferred to a Suntrust bank account that you are recommended to open during orientation before your first year at the school.

Greek Life: The Greek life at Florida State is an experience to say the least. There are countless fraternities and sororities, catering to any type of person. I'd like to start out by saying that last semester I pledged to Alpha Kappa Psi, a co-ed professional business fraternity. This was not your average fraternity, but it shows that there will likely be a fraternity that caters to your specific interests. The frats and sororities are very prominent on campus but the school is so big that they don't make a significant impact on the social atmosphere. It's more like, the frats and sororities are there, and its simply up to the student to decide to live that life or not. Among non-Greeks it is a very common belief that all Greeks are jerks, and spoiled brats, but I believe that students usually don't even take them on. Greek housing is very noticeable when taking a cruise around campus. A great deal of fraternities and sororities have their own houses, and there also an off campus community called Heritage Grove where many other Greek housing is located.

Campus Housing: Never Lived in a Dorm but I've Visited Many – At FSU, there are is a great variety of dorms. There are dorms like Smith Hall and Kellum Hall, which are considered some of the worst dorms for their rather cramped design and prison feel. And there are newer dorms such as Ragans Hall, and Degraff Hall which are spacious and very clean. Pretty much all of the dorms have study rooms on multiple floors, a lounge room usually on the ground floor, and your basic utilities such as bathrooms and laundry rooms. The cost of the dorms vary depending on how nice the dorm is. Pretty much all of the dorms on the FSU campus are conveniently located in relation to the school. If your class isn't walking distance from the dorm then there will most certainly be a bus stop outside the door. The housing process is a fair, first come-first serve system. Students register online and are given a number that will likely decide where they will live. In my case, I was very late in filling out the housing registration and I ended up living off campus in an apartment. Overall I like the campus housing at Florida State University, and the only improvements they could make would be to build more dorms.

Campus Quality: The sports are amazing and gets everyone excited for every season. Being a seminole is the best

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Tons of Choices – There are plenty of choices of off-campus housing for students that seem to be pretty affordable too.
