Campus Food: Great Late Night... OK Lunch. There is a ton of great places in Tallahassee to eat- thats for sure. The dinning at FSU is better than a lot of schools but lacks variety... The Diner is great though! I wouldn't recommend getting a meal plan though because there are so many other great/cheap places to eat nearby.

Transportation: I really like the number of routes, how often the buses come around, and the student taxi - anywhere for a flat rate.

My only minus is the off-campus buses; they don't lead to many amenities, but they do lead to enough (i.e., grocery shopping, haircuts).

Off-Campus Housing: Compared to Other Towns, Not So Bad in Price – Virtually everyone lives off-campus after freshman dorm life. It is not difficult to find one, but the nice ones tend to be further away from campus. Thankfully there is a reliable bus system.

Campus Food: Repetitive, Slightly Overpriced, but Convenient. Einstein's, Salad Creations, Chili's, Miso, Papa John's, a smoothie place, Pollo Tropical, Fresh Foods, the Suwannee Room (buffet), More than three Starbucks, one of which is 24 hours/5 days a week

Not very diverse selection, not so kind on the wallet. The 24/5 Starbucks paired with the 24/5 library is a great pairing though. A huge meal plan would be wasteful near the end of the year, but it works well for freshman living on campus.

Health & Safety: FSU is located in the capital of Tallahassee, FL. The areas on campus are relatively safe during the day, but I would be more cautious at night. FSU does have on campus police and emergency towers visible from ever point on campus. Emergency towers allow for students to press a red button which immediate contacts the on campus police department. Off campus however there are a large amount of low income housing mixed in with college houses, which leads to a larger number of house robberies than expected

Campus Quality: School Life – Very nice and student friendly campus. Has a wide variety of programs and majors. Lots of student organizations and activites. The admissions process is very easy and comprehensable.

Campus Housing: Housing is very limited but other options are readily available.

Parking: Okay....there are 40,000 students who go to our school. Yet, there are only 4,000 parking spaces available. Even less than that after it hits 12:00 AM. They do not give us much parking spaces, but they have no trouble in giving out parking tickets. This is coming from someone who has never received one. BEWARE!!!!!!

Party Scene: Great Places for Students Under 21 – You do not have to break the law to have an amazing night out. There is a theater on campus where they play a bunch of retro movies where everyone knows the lines, so it makes for a fun night if you need a break. There is even a club on campus where under 21 students are accepted. There are a lot of clubs off-campus where students can have a great time.

4 College Freshman

Academics: A Lot of Places to Get Help – Not only do you have the teachers available during their office hours, but you also have many students and staff available at Dirac Library and mostly Club Strozier Library where the atmosphere is very inviting and you never feel as if you should be ashamed becasue you need help.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The Usual – FSU helped me quite a bit with a freshman/sophomore grant, but the school is getting rid of it now. I do receive a full pell grant, but I feel they can do a lot more for me. I have taken out student loans, but you have to keep in check with the financial aid services. When I asked for a loan last semester they said yes, and that I would receive it within a week, but when I called a full week later they told me that there was never a record for a loan for me. I had to wait another week.

Weather: Florida = Winning...Duh!! This is Florida! There hasn't been a tough hurricane in a while, so otherwise the weather is very nice! If there is a storm, FSU sends a mass text warning its students.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: OK Variety – At FSU you can see the major ethnicity is White. There is a large population of Hispanics and Blacks as well, then come Asians. Every now and then you will see middle eastern people.
There is a club/organization for anyone's sexual orientation, religious belief, or political beliefs. I think FSU does a good job accepting how students are.

Administration: FSU PD doesnt mess around when it comes to protecting our students and campus. They are very well training and value their jobs!

Athletics: Football and Baseball Rule. Florida States Football team and baseball are the best!

Guys & Girls: Guys Are Diverse – There are many types of guys on campus. A lot of them are involved in Greek life and they are typical meat heads. There are a lot of smart guys and rednecks as well.

Overall Experience: THERE ARE A PLETHORA OF GROUPS BUT THE PROCESS OF FINDING YOURS CAN BE DAUNTING AND OVERWHELMING. MY FAVORITE PART HAS BEEN JOINING CORAZON DANCERS, WE TEACH, PERFORM, AND DANCE SALSA. THE MINORITY POPULATION IS CLIQUEY AND SHOULD FOCUS ON SPREADING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE LATIN/HISPANIC CULTURE TO NON-HISPANICS AND NOT JUST TO EACH OTHER AND NOT BE RUN BY MULTI-CULTURAL GREEK ORGANIZATIONS.

Off-Campus Dining: EINSTEIN AND STARBUCKS ARE OVERPRICED. THERE ISN'T MUCH VARIETY. POLLO TROPICAL IS GREAT PRICE AND TASTE-WISE.

3 College Senior

Campus Quality: The gym and libraires are new, welcoming, and comfortable. Activities are too Greek-life based. There should be more computers and microwaves for comuters.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The student aid process is very easy. Everything is done with simple applications online. It is a quick and smooth process.

Greek Life: Greeklife is huge on campus. Greek housing is available by all chapters to its members. Greek life is a big part of the college experience, i recommend at least trying it to everyone, but there is not hostility between greeks and non-greeks.

Local Area: Tallahassee gives a true college experience. It is filled with students, and the atmosphere is amazing. There is always something fun to do.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Gaze Your Sight at the Capital – The restaurants are scattered throughout the city, and they're all phenomenal and amazingly cheap. There are different varieties to choose from and which ever you'll pick, I guarantee that you'll be satisfy. Visit the bars and clubs in midtown and downtown, lots of restaurants in a single fine line waiting to serve you. I recommend club mint, aj's sport bar, and the strozier.

Overall Experience: Seminoles Are Very Welcoming – Although Florida State wasn't my first choice, I am glad I decided to go here. The students and staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is still time to party, but you have to keep studying and do well in classes. At Florida State, you are rewarded for hard work and perseverance.

Campus Quality: General Campus Aesthetics – We have a very beautiful campus with many different facilities for students' use. There are two gyms and numerous playing fields at Florida State, and everything on campus is free with a student ID. The student union is a centrally located place for students to hang out, and it is filled with places to eat, a club, a bowling alley, and other fun things to do.
