Campus Housing: Wildwood Dorm – I lived in Wildwood Dorn the first year it was open. It was a great place to spend my freshman year, close to all of the sports complexes and the gym. There wasn't a whole lot that was too far away, and I didn't need to have a car.

Health & Safety: Feeling Safe on Campus – I feel relatively safe on campus, with the exception of walking alone at night. During the day, I feel very safe walking among students from class to class, or being on my own studying in the library. The only problems I've heard about safety on campus occur in the late hours of the night when people are walking in small groups from the bars.

Administration: Alcohol Seminar Woes – If you get caught drinking in the dorms or anywhere on campus for that matter you have the chance of being refered to the Housing Board. This is a lot better then having a notice to appear! Even though its a $75 class at least you are arrested if you are caught. Most of the time the alcohol is confiscated and you are forced to go to a house committee review, write an essay/letter, and pay to take the class. You aren't really put on probation. They just keep your name on file for 6 months. They don't even notify your parents.

Guys & Girls: Greek Life Beauty – There is a running joke that the Greek life on the Florida States campus are a grade above the rest. Hardly do you ever see an ugly person in greek letters. It is almost sickening looking at pictures taken by Nightlife Unleashed at Baja's or Pot's to name a couple. Everyone looks great all the time. The guys at the gym! OMG, and the girls can just look on from above at the gym. Thank God for the layout of that place. Great views all the time!

Off-Campus Dining: Tennessee to Pensacola – We have everything from sushi to burgers. If you are wanting a crepe you have got to stop by the Crepe Vine. Moes, Chilies, Hobbits Hoagies, and many more wonderful restaurants surround Florida State's campus. If you feel like cooking you can hit up local grocery stores including Publix and WinDixie. Both have a stop on the FSU bus route. Tons of fast food as well as sit down restaurants cater to student life, staying open past midnight. Many stay open as late as 3:00a.m.

Majors: The Best Four Years of My Life – I am absolutely in love with my school. I am actually deciding to change my major, to the communication disorders program, so I don't exactly know what to expect yet. My career goals are to get a Bachelor's in Communication Disorders, and eventually my Master's in Speech and Language Pathology. I will probably work within a school system for the first couple years and then hopefully have my own private practice. I would love to find a job working with young kids. I have several concerns about finding a good job in my field. It's all about connections and timing, so I'm hoping for both of those once I graduate.

Drug Safety: Stay Off the Grass – Drugs are going to be prevalent at any university you attend. However, the peer pressure for it doesn't seem as abundant as I was expecting. I guess the law enforcement has been doing a decent job keeping those people in line. The repercussions for drug usage on campus is taken very seriously when caught, however, not many people get caught which is just so surprising to me. Drug and alcohol visibility is definitely obvious on campus, students don't exactly seem to be hiding it.

Campus Housing: Life on Campus – Living on campus was definitely a great idea, especially for my freshman. Even though I was not placed in the dorm I wanted to be in, I made several great friends I will keep with me throughout my life. The worst thing about the dorms that I lived in were the fact that there were pipes hanging from the ceiling. The cost was a little bit pricey, especially since I had to have a meal plan which I never really used. The convenience of the dorm was definitely the best feature about living there. It was near the gym, and in a general location to get to almost all of my classes.

Transportation: Buses Are Your Friends – There are numerous buses that run around campus. At night the best option is either the Safe Bus or the Night Nole. The Safe bus runs from 6-2am and it picks you up where you are.

Diversity: FSU comprimises of many religions and races. Unfortunately, like most places, these religions and races do not usually mix. Blacks usually hang out with blacks, whites with whites, Hispanics with Hispanics and etc.

Campus Quality: The Leach Center Is My Best Friend – The Leach Center is my home away from home at Florida State University for people who love to exercise such as myself. I am in there whenever I don't have class. It is huge! Indoor track and pool. So many machines to work all parts of your body. You just can't choose! Plus! there are racket ball courts, a volleyball court and a basketball court! Best thing of all, if you are an FSU students, its all FREE!

3 College Junior

Weather: Sun, Sun, Sun – It is beautiful and sunny in Florida, although a little colder for natives more tropical climes like Miami. Because Florida State is in a valley, there are hills that become somewhat difficult to climb during rainstorms. We are close enough to Georgia and Alabama to get some changing leaves but not close enough to deal with snow!

2 College Junior

Parking: Just Walk. Seriously – I live right off of campus so I do not have to deal with parking, but it is difficult to find a spot here! Campus parking is slowly expanding, but as of now, it's a stress fest.

Athletics: At the Battle's End, She's Great! Although we don't win every single game on the field, you may never be able to tell from the stands. Students get very involved with football games- the actual showdown is only a small segment of game day tradition, including massive university-sponsored tail gates, the beating of the war drum, and Chief Osceola and Renegade throwing the burning spear- the top-ranked tradition in college sports.

5 College Senior

Athletics: Athletics at FSU are second to none. There is tremendous pride involved with being a Seminole. From university sanctioned sports such as football, basketball, baseball, and soccer to all sorts of IM's, athletics are a huge part of what it means to be a Seminole. FSU's IM fields are arguably the best in the nation, as they are among the newest, nicest, and largest in the country. FSU also boasts a 3-story gym that includes a track, a complete spa, and an Olympic size pool. There are also several basketball and tennis courts on campus.

5 College Senior

Academics: Great Professors – Professors at FSU are very engaged. They care for the well-being of their students and are very accessible and easy to approach. Aside from being passionate about their field, they are friendly and knowledgeable.

4 College Senior

Party Scene: Something for Everyone – Nightlife is awesome here. There is literally something for everyone. If you're Greek, there are bars and parties aplenty. If you're not Greek, there are even more. There is a bar or club for every personality/lifestyle and the scene is very diverse.

5 College Senior

Weather: FSU enjoys absolutely beautiful weather for most of the Fall and Spring semesters. Winters are mild, and it's just cold enough to bundle up for late-season football games.

5 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Great Social Scene – FSU's student body has something for everyone. There are all types of girls and guys, from city slickers to country boys and southern belles. The social scene is amazing, with dozens of bars/clubs for any personality.

4 College Senior

Academics: Very Engaged Faculty – I came to FSU because the psychology department is second to none. In my experience within my own department and those of others, every professor and/or TA I've had has been very easy to talk to and very willing to help students in any way they can in and outside of the classroom.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I feel as if classes are extremely interesting and I have no trouble getting engaged with the material. In comparison to high school, I feel as if I walk away with information that I will remember for the rest of my life, whereas high school education was in one ear and out the other.

Local Area: Tallahassee Living – Tallahassee isn't a big city, but it has a friendly college town atmosphere. There are a variety of inexpensive clubs and inexpensive restaurants for students (a popular spot is The Strip) and Wakulla Springs state park is a half hour's drive from Florida State University's campus. Panama City Beach is a two hours drive.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: parking is a real toughy at FSU. they build a new parking structure almost every other year or so, but more and more students bring cars to school. cars are DEFINITELY not necessary freshmen year, especially if youre living on campus. proximity is NEVER an issue because the layout is so efficient. i would suggest a bike for the farthest distances youd even have to travel OFF campus to get any type of necessaries. there are no need for parking permits at fsu unless you want to park in a handful of permit-required spots. those permits can be expensive, and the costs of fines run about 20 dollars to 150 depending on your violation. these parking fines are 99% avoidable as long as you show up to campus to find a spot in decent time before class though

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: everyone is very courteous to one another around campus no matter what race you may be. even the clubs, fraternaties, interest groups, etc. that ARE ethnic based are all really friendly. i know for a fact that this is true because i hang around my student union after lunch with a few friends before we head to class to watch "market wednesdays" where all the black fraternities hold hilarious dance offs and skits. me and my friends are white, and noboby even throws us a snide glance. nothing but friendly faces. im also friends with a number of girls in the asian sorority who are just as elegant as any other sorority girl ive met

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: No Compaints! i love my campus and fsu definitely goes the whole 9 yards to make sure everything looks spic and spam inside AND out. landscaping is constantly maintained and buildings, whether new or old, are always ready to impress any visitors or guests. its very reassuring for when friends and family visit to not be worried they will get a bad impression of your school.
