Off-Campus Dining: There is quite a wide variety of dining opportunities available in Panama City. Everything from commercial food chains, such as McDonalds, Applebees, Sonny's, and Chili's, as well as a plethora of local gems. There are several beach based restaurants that provide entertainment, food, drinking, and some even have a pool that they can bring all of our orders out there to you. If you are looking for an expensive and high quality dining experience, I suggest you try out Firefly on the beach. It has even played host to United States President Obama recently.

Local Area: I am currently attending the Panama City campus of Florida State University. I love the atmosphere because it is located on what has been called by many 'the world's most beautiful beaches'. Each window in the campus offers a beautiful view of the bay and people playing in the water, fishing, surfing, and parasailing. Everything is laid back and very personal with regards to the class work and the personal relationship. There are not a lot of sports and recreation offered through this particular campus, but we have complete access to all of the facilities and events through the main campus. We have a plethora of shopping hubs in this area as well with both the beach and town malls and districts available. Transportation has never been a problem outside of the spring break rush we get on the beach.

Campus Housing: Housing on campus is generally not great. Dorms need serious renovations

Drug Safety: marijuana is readily available in tallahassee but harder drugs aren't too popular. pills for attention and concentration are popular around finals also.

Greek Life: Geek Life – not a greek but it's everywhere at fsu. i'd say almost 50% of undergrads are greek at least

Guys & Girls: most attractive girls in the state of florida and their attitudes can vary from no sex till marriage to instant booty call

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: FSU is host to many highliy ranked sports teams. Football season is extremely exciting and you can't help but get wrapped up in all the fun. School spirit is everywhere and going to games is a great way to de-stress, have fun, and meet new people.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: The main nightlife at FSU exists at the many popular clubs around campus. Clubs are most popular on Friday nights, and are hosts to many well known DJs. Cover charges are usually $5-$20 and can be free for girls between certain hours. Greek life also hosts many many parties. These usually happen on Saturday nights and can be fairly exclusive. House parties aren't the main source of the nightlife, however you can usually find one almost every weekend. FSU is known as a party school for a reason, which means that you will never be bored on the weekends, let alone any other night of the week!

Diversity: Not Very Diverse – Diversity at FSU could be much better. The school is mostly made up of white/catholic students, however there is a large black population on campus. For the other races/religions there is acceptance, and there are many student groups for these. Overall acceptance is very good, there could just be more overall diversity in the school population.

3 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Go Noles – Our school contains a circus, one of the two colleges in the states. The night scene is very exciting every day of the week. Greek life is one of the top in the nation. Graduate school and law school are an option for after undergraduate years.

Transportation: Don't Ride the Bus – Free for students. Not reliable at all. Don't count on the bus to get to class on time. The times it runs at night are very convienent though.

Greek Life: Greek life is a huge part to FSU and coming from someone who isn't a part of it this year, it is one of my major regrets. Will definitely be a part of it next year. Getting involved in general is a huge part to having fun and making friends here.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: Rainy Days Go Away – It rains a lot here, so it becomes a hassle to walk around campus and stepping in puddles. But there are more nice days than gross days so usually everyone is hanging around outside or laying out on Landis Green, a giant field where people play football, frisbee, etc.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports Sports Sports! I think that Varsity sports at Florida State are pretty incredible, and the fans are top notch. I love how involved everyone gets especially for the football games. I am surprised to see how many people actually do attend other sporting events besides football.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I currently live off campus and the convenience to get to campus is excellent! There is a bus that picks up students every 20 minutes. The cost could be cheaper, the landlords are decent, it would be nicer if they weren't so lazy, and actually did their job remotely correctly. Parking is average, there should be more spots in front of everyones apartments. The safety is iffy, it's Tallahassee there is crimes all over the city

Overall Experience: Student Activities, Variety – There is always an activity or an event to participate in on campus, student life is booming. There is lots of free food and fun performers, and also respected speakers.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Buses, Convenience – They are good about sticking to their schedules and its included in your tuition.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: Fountain and Trees, Enjoyable Landscaping – There's lots of greenery on campus which is nice, and we a encouraged to occupy it and use it however we please. The only drawback is the bad smell that comes from the powerhouse of campus, it smells like pure pollution.

2 College Student

Diversity: Too Many Undeserving Ethnic Students – FSU makes every effort in getting racial diversity, even if it means accepting people that are not college material.

Parking: If you are going to be getting to campus earlier than 8:30am you might be able to find a half-decent parking spot, but after 9am there is no way to get a spot unless you spend at least 30 minutes looking for one. Also, if you are trying to find parking at night, you are allowed to park in the teacher areas after 5pm, but be warned if you don't move your car by 7:30am the next morning you will be ticketed and/or towed. The fines for parking used to be $20 if it was a tag violation, but they are upping the fines. The best plan is if you are able to take the bus to campus to do so.

Campus Quality: The libraries at Florida State are great and really student friendly. The main library is open 24 hours from Sunday at noon until Friday at six, and the science library is open until 2am on the weekdays. Outside of the large number of computers available, there are also smart rooms you can check out to study with a group in, and plenty of other devices to check out such as laptops, headphones, even a Wii you can use in a smart room.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Fresh Food Vs. Suwannee Room – The Fresh Food company in my opinion serves fresher food than at the Suwannee Room. I have heard other opinions but I believe that the food and the general atmosphere is better at Fresh Food. Our other campus eateries such as Starbucks, Papa John's and Subway create a great variation that one can never be bored enjoying.

4 College Junior

Parking: There's Always the Bus – Permits are free, which is great; however, parking can be very difficult. You will probably be able to find a spot, but not anywhere near your class unless it's early morning or late afternoon. There are buses that run from early morning until 7 pm. They will take you to and from, and also around, campus. Probably not the best, but definitely not the worst transportation situation.

4 College Junior

Technology: Average- Excellent Quality Overall – As for wireless access, the connection works great except during midterm and finals week when it get overloaded. There are lots of computers and printers available for use around campus. Also, we have Digital Studios, which are awesome, because you can go in and get help with any digital project or program.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek Is Where Its at – Greek life is huge at FSU. It is a lot of fun. I highly recommend pledging.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
