Campus Housing: If you do not get in one of the few good dorms you are stuck in a cramped dirty room. My friend had mold growing all over her things in Smith Hall.

Off-Campus Dining: Always somewhere to eat, especially late at night. Also have amazing restaurants that deliver.

Health & Safety: Florida State University has their own police force who are always around. There are also the emergency blue lights with one always in sight on campus.

4 College Student

Campus Housing: I love living in my dorm. From the weekly events planned by my RA to hanging out with my friends down the hall, the dorms are a great way to meet new people that have the same interests as you.

3 College Student

Campus Food: It depends on which dining hall you go to, but the food is just okay. I am just really picky so I tend to eat at Subway for both lunch and dinner, but I eat breakfast at Suwannee. I make sure to check what I am eating before I eat it.

Party Scene: I only go to one fraternity house, but I like going there because it is fun and I feel comfortable there. They take really good care of me and my friends and provide us with water and bread so we are making smart decisions when it comes to alcohol.

Greek Life: I personally love greek life. I think it is a great way to make really close sisters and it provides you with a smaller group of people to have real relationships with. I rushed this past fall and loved the process. It was really long but I met so many people and thought I had a future there. Unfortunately, I was dropped during recruitment. I was not dropped based off of something I did, it was just an oversight by the Panhellenic Association. In my recruitment class, there were over 1200 girls rushing the same week I was. There were just too many girls and you have to be really careful to stand out during recruitment week.

Off-Campus Dining: The options available to me are limited because I do not have a car on campus. I am able to walk to some places however the quality is not as good at those places than it is when I go out to eat with my friends further away from campus.

Overall Experience: It depends on what your major is if Florida State has a good program for that or not. Luckily for me, Florida State has the most advanced and reputable Choral Music Education program in the State of Florida. The professors in the College of Music are commited to seeing you succeed and help music impact others lives. They provide lots of outreach opportunities to gain experience in your major.

Athletics: I never thought going to a college with such rich traditions would be important to me. But after coming to Florida State, I fell in love with it even more. Getting into the school spirit on football game days is the best part because there is just a feeling in the air that is exhilarating. It is almost as if the Seminole tribe is alive on campus. Of course, our school has had its fair share of bad publicity. However, that is not all Florida State athletics is about and at the end of the day, we are still one tribe.

Off-Campus Dining: dinning sround campus isn't very healthy but it's duable because it's not too expensive but it adds up after a while

4 College Freshman

Academics: academics at fsu push me to do my best because the work is challenging but I know if study properly I can get the grades I want but it requires a lot of work

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus housing is okay because even though their nice and close to campus they are very expensive which on top of tuiton makes it difficult to be able to pay

3 College Freshman

Administration: administration does and okay job at managing what students do

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I personally think greek life is great because in my opinion it helps the school by raising awareness to certain causes and having fundraisers to help those causes. Also, the events they have are a great way for everyone to get together and enjoy themselves and be able to meet all sorts of new people that can help them develop their connections.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorm that I live in is okay inside its decently organized but the location isn't ideal but it's duable. The pricing is very high.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: I didn't even get half of my tuition covered so it's difficult for my parents to pay the rest without struggling. i only get a minimal amount of money from FAFSA

3 College Freshman

Local Area: the local area isnt too populated it's mainly just the college kids

5 College Freshman

Greek Life: It is a huge deal here. Greeks get their stereotypes, some are true some are not. It is consuming on campus and hosts huge parties and is the main talk for most conversations.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: My financial aid was academics based, it all took place online on a main page, hassle free. Called with questions and they helped me sufficiently. Used it for books and essentials from the bookstore, plus room and board and some of the tuition.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Bryan and Landis hall are the best. Kellum and Salley are the worst. amenities are average, kitchen, lobby, given furniture, etc. Social atmosphere is better in the smaller residence halls, cost is reasonable, convenience depends on where your dorm is to proximity to what you want (classes, union, etc.), housing process was simple.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Courses are a mix of easy As and extremely challenging. No matter what, the professors or TA's will always be there ready to help you in any way if you are willing to take initiative to learn. There is a large variety of classes to be taken, and class sizes range from 20 students to 200 students.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The police are always there to take care of problems. Students and faculty's safety is number one priority on campus. Security is very efficient and quick.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: To me, it is quaint yet lovely. Many outdoor activities can be done. The people are the friendliest in the world. There are many fine arts and cultural events available. Shopping isn't that great, but it is enough. Safety is impeccable. No nearby professional sports.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports are huge here. Campus revolves around them on game days, and school spirit is always high for sports. Everyone is active and participates in athletics some way or another.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee.
