Transportation: Good, and Improving. Transportation options are actually pretty good at FSU. The main complaint that I have is that the campus buses don't really seem to run on a schedule, the kind of just drive around. Depending on the bus line, there should be one making it's way to each stop every 10-15 minutes, but on many occasions I have waited much longer to get a bus. If you're living on campus, this isn't a big deal because most everything is close enough together that you can make it walking from one side of the campus to the other in about 15 minutes, but for people living off of campus, this can be a hassle. To make sure I got to school on time, I have often gotten on the bus an hour before my class starts.

As for the night options, there is a bus that runs Tuesday through Saturday nights so that students have a safe post-party/clubbing option. There is also the safe bus, but the safe bus does not run all night either. These can be frustrating if you plan to be in the library for a long time (especially since the library is 24/7 during the fall and spring) and end up leaving in the wee hours, as there will be no option available to take you home or to the garage where you are parked.

There are cheap taxis available that will give you a discount with your FSU ID card, and your FSU ID will also be valid when using the city bus system.

There are other transportation options that are becoming more and more helpful. FSU just got Zip Cars in the last year and a bike share program is getting started on campus this fall.

Transportation: Great but Sometimes Late – There are about four buses that go on campus and two that only travel on campus. There is always a chance that you will find a ride within 15 minutes standing at the stop. However, you do have to prepare for the buses to be late, especially when it gets really busy on campus. Often times, it gets too crazy around noon and the bus arrives and it's packed to the maximum so I have to wait for the next bus. What is great, FSU has a safe bus that you can call at anytime at night to give you a ride on campus or off.

Off-Campus Housing: Somewhat Affordable but Hard to Find Safe Area – Compared to other cities, the prices for apartments in Tallahassee are affordable. There are many options but you just have to do your research and really look for what is best for you. Renting a house near campus is usually the most affordable option but you never know what kind of landlord you get. All of my friends have had great experiences with houses and if you get unlucky you can always look at it experience dealing with people. As you get further away from campus, the prices get cheaper and the quality gets so much better. More bang for your buck but I only suggest living far if you have a car and do not mind being so far from the campus life. Also, the further you live, I feel the safer you will feel. Most of the apartments near FSU campus is located where no one really feels safe walking alone at night. I personally have had an encounter or two where I hide in my car, run to my apartment while looking over my shoulder, etc. Overall, there are many choices with a variety of prices and a guarantee that you will find something that is good for you.

Party Scene: Very Easy to Have Fun – Going out is what Florida State does best. Endless array of clubs and bars. Different scenes for different crowds and age groups. IDs are sorta lax

Parking: The parking at Florida State University Panama City is excellent, because there is always parking spots available on campus throughout the day. Parking permits are free and can be found in the main office, so they are not hard to obtain.

Parking: Parking is notoriously horrible at FSU, and I and other classmates have "stalked" people for a parking spot and still had to wait 30 minutes to 2 hours to find a spot. Also, you most likely WILL get a (20 dollar) ticket if you park in a non-designated parking area. Fortunately, parking is a breeze in the summer because the majority of students are gone. I dread dealing with parking again in the fall, though. :(

Weather: Some Like It Hot! I love hot weather, so the summers don't bother me much as long as I have access to A/C. You can expect afternoon thunderstorms frequently in the summer...but also lots of sunshine year-round.

We ARE one of the most attractive student bodies in the nation ;)

Transportation: Easy to Figure Out. The bus schedule can be off at times, but there's always buses around and the routes are easy to figure out.

Campus Food: The food isn't too bad, but it gets a bit repetitive.

Off-Campus Housing: Very Convenient – Most off-campus housing is close to campus and if they're not then there are very easy bus routes to take that will take you to campus quickly.

Local Area: Fantastic Weather, School Pride and Sense of Community – I think you would be hard pressed to find somebody in Tallahassee not sporting FSU gear! This is the very essence of a college town, everyone is friendly and helpful. The only reason I graded it an A- is because there are some seedy parts of town that you should try to avoid too late at night!

Parking: I Suggest Not Bringing Along a Car! Parking is a competitive sport on campus here at fsu, where people will stalk you as you you walk to your car just to snag your spot, and sometimes offer you a ride to your parking spot! It's really not that much walking from any on campus residence hall, plus it's good exercise!

Overall Experience: Best School in Florida – With all of the academic honor and prestige of UF without the snobby attitudes. The people at FSU are welcoming and kind (not to mention ranked as some of the best looking in the country), and the campus is extremely beautiful. You won't even feel like you're in Florida besides the sun. Rolling hills and beautiful brick buildings await you at the Florida State University, you'll feel at home within hours of arriving.

Off-Campus Dining: Super Perros Is Great, Convenient and Low Cost – Right down the street from campus located right near Degraff Hall and the union, Super Perros has greatly priced Colombian food including burgers, hot dogs and traditional Latin American cuisine. Everything is delicious!

4 College Senior

Weather: Nice Change – Tallahassee sees all the seasons, cold dry winters and hot humid summers

4 College Senior

Campus Food: Pretty Good – The union has a few good places such as Chili's, Tropical Smoothie, and Papa Johns. Then there are various food trucks with hot dogs or tacos. The food courts have typical cafeteria food but it can get a little pricey. The meal plans are pretty convenient, but you have to make sure you eat mostly on campus. This can be hard if you have friends always wanting to eat off campus.

Local Area: A Lot to Do – In Tallahassee, there are a lot of different things to do. On a sunny day, you can visit The Rez and do some kayaking on the lake or spend it doing outdoor adventures. The beach is only an hour south. If you are very outgoing, there are plenty of bars and clubs to go to on any given night. There are also museums and the capitol building which is cool to go on tours.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Guys Are Hot – Florida State has a lot of different types of guys. There's the rednecks, northern boys, athletes, and of course the sexy southern guys. There's someone for everybody. This seminole city has a lot to offer.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: Fantastic College Experience – At Florida State University, you will not have a better time in college. There is so much to do, especially in the Fall when the Seminoles are in the heat of contention in college football. There is always something to do whether it is going to Governors Square Mall, downtown to a concert, or even just going out to eat at the very diverse locations all though Tallahassee. Everyone here is friendly and is always willing to give a helping hand, especially if you're wearing garnet and gold. If you're looking for a great place to come and make great memories of your times in college, make sure that FSU is at the top of your list.

Transportation: Walking or Biking Are Your Main Options – The campus is quite large, but not to the point where it is nearly impossible to make it to class on time. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from one end to another, and the heat here can be unbearable but fighting for parking is not worth it. We do have a bus system and it can be an option for some, but they aren't always on time and sometimes you don't want to sit next to someone who is eating out of a tuna can.
Bringing a bike can be an option, just make sure you have a little bell on it so you don't knock others over or run into them as people can be clueless and stop in front of a biker.
I would once again like to stress that on-campus parking is a nightmare, but you still need a car to get around Tallahassee, because you don't want to constantly rely on the Renegade or Metro if you don't have to. All buses are free to students.

Academics: The academics at this university are good. The professors try to assist you if possible. Some grade more harshly than others, as with any other school or university. Just try your best and do not be afraid to speak to your professors. Take advantages of all of the assistances they provide to keep your grades high.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Sports Are Good – Sports are a huge part of the student life here. The only problem is the huge rivalry between University of Florida and FSU.

3 College Junior

Academics: Large Workload – There is so much to do with this major! The professors are very helpful but I feel that the workload is extremely high. You definitely need your own transportation for this major, especially if you live off campus. It is very difficult to work and have this major.
