Diversity: ALL GREEK! It seemed every single person I bumped into was white and either in a sorority or fraternity. Most of the people at FSU are not my kind of people.

Scholarships: Fairly Easy – receiving financial aid was easy, and the office of financial aid was pretty helpful with that process. I suggest staying on top of your financial aid and payments.

Diversity: Plenty of Everything – My school definitely covers the spectrum in every aspect of diversity. All races, interests, political parties, religions, economic backgrounds, and sexual orientations are present and accepted.

Off-Campus Dining: Could Be Better – While I've often taken advantage of the off-campus dining options because of the convenience, price, and availability, the choices themselves are not stellar. Being a vegan (I do not eat any animal products), I've often struggled to find substantial meals around campus outside of my own kitchen. Also, while the food is decent quality, it would be good to have more options that are not just greasy fast food.

Drug Safety: It Depends Where Your Looking – Tallahasee has a fairly large centralized population that is made up of alot of college age people. With that said, it would be undeniable to say there inst a decent amount of drug abuse that goes on here at FSU. With that said if your not looking for drugs and hangout with responsible individuals, it is most likely that your safety will NOT be infringed upon for anything drug realted.

Off-Campus Dining: The Freshman 15 Is Forreal – There are a ton of options very close to FSU. There is a variety of cuisines that vary in price rang. Typically the closer you are to campus the more cheap fast food type places are available.

Campus Quality: Getting Fit Made Easy – The universities athletic centers are top notch. Whether your into swimming, running, or weightlifting all of these activities can be done under one roof. The Leach center is a one stop shop for fitness and it is regularly renovated and has very good hours. If your not into working out then FSU still has nice facilities for soccer, golf, tennis, baseball, and flag football.

Scholarships: Very Average – There are a few scholarships available but they are highly competitive. The financial aid office is usually helpful, but their hours could be better.

Campus Food: Hungry? No Problem. There are a number of places around campus to find food. The food of the highest quality and greatest variety is located at the Student Union. Once you branch further away from the union, your options are still good within a short walking distance to many off campus establishments that serve a variety of options for food.

Diversity: During my time at FSU, I made friends with different people from all over the world. My classmates were diverse, and racial issues never really surfaced. It was easy to make friends by joining any one of the many student organizations. I myself was interested in learning Chinese. I joined the ASU, co-founded the CLCA, and before I knew it I was on an airplane to China!

Guys & Girls: Hope You Like Football – Many of our guys are huge sports fans. There is a huge population of frat boys and sorority girls. The nerd culture does have it's influence and there are many political students, but the overwhelming majority of guys I've me are just sports buffs.

Transportation: Get Out Your Walking Shoes – Though we do have a pretty awesome bus schedule, the heat of Florida often means it will take half as long to walk to class. There is a night bus service and campus isn't that difficult once you know the layout. There are hills, but it's nothing extreme.

Party Scene: Pretty Good – There are some good places to go but after a short while it gets pretty old. Younger girls trying to slink into clubs is also annoying.

Local Area: There's really not much going on in tallahasee and I wish there were more events

Campus Quality: I play club soccer for FSU. The facilities are nice

Majors: Laid back. No pressure. Good professors. Good advisors

Off-Campus Housing: No One Cares – Have had experiences myself and have had friends who have had experiences in dealing with the office management. Bottom line.. they don't care about you. You can tell them something is wrong, broken, dangerous, etc. They will not address it. The people working in the office are mostly college kids who need some extra money. They have no interest in actually helping anyone. This is based on 5 different off campus housing places

Off-Campus Dining: A Little Pricey but Worth It! The restaurants off campus are great, the food is always good and the service is always friendly, there are a lot of great hole in the wall type of places near campus and Seminole pride is everywhere.

Campus Food: Not Bad but Not Necessary – The meal plan options are good for freshmen and those new to the area, its a good quick fix but your options are limited and Publix is a much cheaper alternative.

Transportation: Thumbs up! The bus system at FSU is a bit complicated and confusing the first couple of times. There are a couple that go to different locations at different times. They say a bus comes every 10 minutes, but thats not very accurate. If your going to the other side of campus, it does save time obviously instead of walking, but it takes more time for the bus to get there than it does for the ride over to your destination. If you have popular class times (afternoons), your most likely gonna stand and hang on to something on the bus. One thing that is great at FSU is they have a SafeBus system that runs specifically at night only. It stops at around 3am, but its great for campus safety. They pick you up where ever you are on campus and leave you closed to your destination or if its a dorm, exactly in front of it. There is also a Night Nole that goes off campus and picks students up from clubs and bars, so they dont drink and drive. They go through every bus stop until you decide which one is closest to your destination. I would have to say that I am extremely pleased we have buses thats free and goes around campus at pretty much any time of the day. Hope this review helps :)

Technology: Thumbs up! There are definately a lot of places at FSU available when in need of a computer. The main library is Strozier, but there is a couple more places in which they have computers and printing available. They recently built the Johnson building which has MAC computers and laptops. During midterms and finals, it is extremely difficult to get a computer. However, you can always bring your own, connect to the free network and find a space to sit in. It definately comes in handy to have your own computer that way you dont depend on the few available especially if you have a deadline for an assignment. I believe the printing costs are .08 cents for B&W and .15 for Color. The times of the computer labs are extremely convenient and helpful. If theres a paper due at 8 am, you have time to go earlier and print it out without any issue. Stroz is usually open 24 hours with the exception of some days and you can check out laptops. Other computer labs close alot earlier. The speed is not bad unless there are a whole bunch of kids on the network then it may take some time :) Hope this helped!

Transportation: Lots of Options – At FSU, we have a lot of options. You just need to make sure to do your research, and figure out which buses go where and at what time. We have the on campus buses, the university bus that goes off campus, the city buses (that are free for students), taxis (that take FOREVER to get there, but cost $4 to go anywhere as long as you have your student ID) and, as always, friends with a car to drive you around.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Fairly Diverse – Although we have a pretty good range of students on our campus, jokes are still made about black students only being there to fill up a quota. Most of my classes are predominately white, but walking around campus, I see many different ethnicities.

Guys & Girls: Good Lookin' – Florida State has one of the best looking students bodies of any college. The girls are beautiful and like to tan in the middle of campus on Landis field.

Local Area: Just Ok – The city is hard to get used to but once you discover that there is more to Tallahassee than just the city. If you are looking for outdoor activities there are plenty of opportunities to get out. Tom Brown Park is a great way to get out and also the Florida State Reservation which is free to students is a great local hang out. Also historic downtown which is walking distance from campus is a great place to walk around and hang out.
