Campus Food: Suwannee is the worst of the 3 dining halls on campus. Figg is easily the best and Fresh Foods is in between. If you live on the east side of campus (like Deviney, Dorman, Landis, Gilchrist, Broward, Bryan, Jennie, Cawthon, Reynolds) then Fresh is too far for it to be worth it usually. Suwannee is closer to these buildings. But the franchised options (Subway, Chick-fil-a, etc.) are way better than the dining halls and if you can, try to stick with those or just cook. The dining halls have decent variety (better at Fresh and Figgs than Suwannee) and they are just good enough to get by.

Campus Housing: Disclaimer: *The building I review in the first part is being torn down for Fall 2015* I live in Deviney Hall and it's an okay community style dorm at best. Rooms are a sometimes moldy, the laundry room is creepy, and the bathrooms can get pretty disgusting pretty quickly on the weekends (when they don't clean them). Despite the building's age and it's unrenovated state, I think most of the residents will say that it is what you make it and the social atmosphere is one of the best on campus. That should go for the other community style dorms such as Dorman, Kellum, and Smith Halls (the only community dorm that will available for Fall 2015). I have made so many friends in this building and I am really happy that I was able to live in it despite its quirks.

The new Dorman and Deviney Halls will be available for Fall 2015 to replace the old Dorman and Deviney halls. These will be suite style and will be almost equally comparable to Wildwood & Degraff Halls (with some differences).

Greek Life: They throw good parties and do good for the community, I'm just not sure it's my thing

Athletics: The gym is the best! They have super up-to-date equipment and it's three stories high. They have an indoor olympic sized pool, an indoor track, a bunch of squash and racquetball courts, and different activity rooms

Off-Campus Dining: Most places open til 3am or later

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: It's such a hassle to get and deal with and then they don't follow the proper channels and try to give you a fine for not paying everything when it was something on their end

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Florida State goes hard every weekend. I would give it 5 stars but I've been out a few times where it was only okay.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: I don't really eat on campus much because I have food back at my apartment. It's just more expensive than I'd like to pay, but for the most part quality.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are tons of options of different locations, sizes, and prices.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of restaurants! Close and far from campus, there are tons of options

3 College Freshman

Administration: The campus isn't very strict because we are technically adults now. There is respect on both ends.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid line is really long at the beginning of the year, but everyone there has a smile on their face and are eager to help you.

Party Scene: I don't party much, but it's been okay every time I have went out!

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: I don't have a meal plan, but on campus restaurants are good! The lines get long sometimes but that's expected with our school's population.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is easy. The campus isn't huge so you can make it across campus in about 20 minutes.

Off-Campus Housing: It's usually pretty good. Tallahassee is a college town, so there are always plenty of people looking for tenants. Most landlords don't rent out ridiculously nice places because they know that there's always the possibility an apartment will get trashed, but you can find plenty of average, comfortable places to live that don't cost too much.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: I grew up in Tallahassee, and I live off campus, so I kind of consider everything in town to be at least somewhat close to FSU. As it is with any place, you've got good restaurants and you've got bad ones. I will say that there are a lot of fast food places around campus. More concentrated than in any other area.

3 College Junior

Administration: The honor code is pretty strictly enforced at FSU, but things like underage drinking tend not to be. They're really strict about parking because the spaces are so limited.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It was a hassle because I submitted my FAFSA late and then got chosen for tax verification, but that was my fault. The office of financial aid was split on helpfulness: some people really seemed like they wanted to help me, and others seemed like they couldn't care less.

Campus Food: Since I don't have a meal plan, I don't eat on campus too much, but when I do, the food's usually pretty good. I like the Chili's, but it's a little expensive, so I can't do that very often. The Denny's is pretty cheap, but the quality's not as good.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
