Athletics: Florida State athletics is a big deal at FSU, football especially. A lot of money and school activities are based around athletics and there are a lot of different sports teams there for students to join. Our school pride runs deep at FSU and we don't take losing lightly but we are not sore losers. I would say overall FSU is a very proud school whether in academics or athletics, so its a fun place to be.

Weather: Bipolar. It's always changing from raining to sunny, hot then cold. You can't even trust the weather reports. Winters are rainy and cold. Spring and summers are super hot.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Overall, great experience! Diverse campus & lots of clubs you can join.

Drug Safety: For being a junior, I haven't been exposed to much drug and alcohol. Yes there have been the occasional football games where alcohol is present but other than that it really isnt a big factor, at least to me, on campus. Maybe its just the group I hang around or if it is really the campus that is like this, I haven't really had a problem facing drugs and alcohol.

Greek Life: I am in a sorority and I love the Greek life here. It is like we are one big family and all stick up for each other.

Local Area: Tallahassee is a very small town. The main attractions and things to do surround the university. The best places to eat and just go out with your friends are within a 5 mile radius of the school. There are cool places such as the Rez and the sink hole where many people like to spend their Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Tennessee Street is pretty much where its at. Once you get far away enough from the university there is nothing but forests and residential areas. However, on Game days this small town simply lights up. Businesses paint their windows in support of our team and offer specials. The immense pride for the Florida State Seminoles can be felt throughout Tallahassee. Even though the school is located in a small town it is events like these that make you feel like you are apart of something BIG.

Diversity: I believe Florida State University is extremely diverse. There are international students from Serbia to even China. There are people with many different ethnic backgrounds. And there are hundreds of clubs and organizations that welcome you with open arms. One can definitely find a place to fit in at FSU

Local Area: Sports centered but there are museums & festivals.

Parking: Need to get to school at least a hour early to find.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The professors here are great they are all very friendly and helpful. The workload all depends on how many classes you are taking and if you are able to handle it. Popular study areas are the library's and on Landis green during the day. The awesome thing is that you can study anytime because Strozier library is open 24 hours a day.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: The school has so many things going on at once that you never really know where to begin. The social scene is great and the campus life also is. You can pretty much do whatever you please on your free time as long as it is legal and abides by the schools rules and regulations.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: The nightlife for students that are 21 and older is far more diverse than what is available for student that are younger than 21. However, there are a few clubs for those who want to pay to have a good time. I would say that house parties are far more fun than the club scene because they are free and people of all ages are there.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: The activities and athletic centers are great. There are many things to do and many clubs to join on campus so you will never be bored. The gym is open almost all the time which is useful if you want to work out any time of the day.

Weather: The campus is absolutely gorgeous but the weather changes every 60 minutes or so. It'll be really cold, sunny, windy, and humid all in one day. It's really annoying when as a student when you have to walk to classes and you're only properly dressed for the weather for only a portion of the day.

2 College Freshman

Parking: Parking is difficult, but there are plenty of busses to take instead.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are lots of different apartment complexes for students, varying in price, distance from school, and spaciousness.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: FSU offers various methods of late night transportations such as Safe Bus that picks up and drops off on campus from 7pm to 2 am. The Night Nole public bus goes around various places in Tallahassee as well. Cabs are also a good way to get around. I always see campus police going around campus but some walkways are some what dark which I avoid especially if I'm by myself.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Guys and girls at Florida State vary but for the most part the majority people here are really social and engaging. Students dress nice especially when going out to clubs or bars, and many people here are in shape and really good looking. I would say FSU has the some of the best looking students by far as well as friendliest.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The scholarships are great. Some are awarded strictly on your performance while others require essays and lengthy applications. For example, my major is communications and media studies and I have to write an essay on why I want the scholarship and what I will do with it.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: The buses are really convenient. They are usually on a good time schedule. Nice on cold or rainy days. Also good if you live off campus since parking is hard to find through the week.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Fresh Food is really easy and convenient if you live on that side of campus. The service is good and the food is pretty good usually. You have a lot of options, including vegetarian meals. I had the unlimited plan and would go in there when my friends did to socialize. Also met a few new friends there.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Salley Hall was not the best. Very small room to share with someone. Ragans apartment style is nice for on campus, but kind of expensive. At least you get your own room and only share a bathroom with one other person. I recommend Ragans if you're a sophomore or above.

Majors: I'm a Psychology major, but also going into Pre-Med, and I can safely say the workload is plentiful but not overbearing. There are tons of opportunities for internships, jobs, and joining student organizations, and so far I can't say I have any complaints about the teachers/professors. Overall, I am very happy with my experience here at Florida State.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: No sign of drug use on campus, but like you can expect from every college, there are certain cliques who partake in the activity.

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I live right on "Greek Row" so I get a good helping of the Greek life. It is surprisingly quiet most of the time, but if you are looking for a good party you can find one almost any day of the week and every week of the year, except for major test weeks.
