Party Scene: Nightlife at Florida state is very vibrant! there are so many places to go and people to meet. Florida state also offers the night nole so that you can ride the bus home after the night out.

Local Area: I love the local atmosphere of Florida State! The campus is very beautiful and close together so that it is easy to get around. It is close to many fun things to do.

Guys & Girls: Guys and girls at Florida State are both friendly and good looking. Most are athletic and involved.

Weather: Tallahassee weather is WEIRD. Maybe that's why FSU has a Meteorology program, to try and figure out the weather. But really, the weather is really temperamental. We get the awesome (but muggy) sun in the Fall, and yet every afternoon it rains for about an hour, starting at about 2:00 or so. Then in the winter it can get really cold but have random scorching days, and then spring comes but winter wants to occasionally pop in and say HEY! I'm BACK! So the spring semester is a battle of shorts one day, jacket and pants the next. WEIRDDDD

Transportation: Transportation around campus is GREAT! There are bus stops everywhere on campus and buses constantly passing these stops on different routes, but usually stopping at a place that you can get off before being stolen away from campus. As for being off campus and getting to campus, I am not so sure...I have always lived within biking/walking distance from campus.

OH and late at night there is the night nole which runs an excellent route around campus, and there is always the safe bus (which after like 6pm you can call, from anywhere on campus, and it will pick you up and take you anywhere else on campus)

Off-Campus Housing: There are many off-campus housing locations available to students at FSU, however, finding one within a reasonable price range is difficult. Most places with say, 4 bedrooms and 3 to 4 bathrooms run at an average of $450 rent (per month), not including utilities. Additionally, the services around town that help "match" you up with an apartment or a townhome or a house, they won't look for anything below that rent scheme (usually)...SO if you are looking for cheaper locations, you have to sacrifice either A) Distance from campus or B) Your time scouring craiglist for more word-of-mouth housing posts/suggestions....

Athletics: As an athlete, there are a lot of perks. We have access to a lot of facilities and treatment. The athletic trainers are great and always available. The teams, training, and coaches are all great. School spirit is huge at Florida State. Everyone goes all out for the sporting events, especially football. Athletics are a very big part of Florida State.

Local Area: Everybody's very friendly and cordial. During game day the Seminole spirit definitely comes out.

Off-Campus Housing: Like in any other college town there are nice places and low quality places. My personal experience at West 10 has been great. My 1/1 is very spacious, TV included, washer and dryer in the unit. Maintenance is there when you have problem and staff is friendly. Amenities are quite nice. It is a little above the average price range but nice. Campus circle is also a great option, but it can be quite pricey.

Off-Campus Dining: There are several choices around the city ranging from fast food to moderately expensive places.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Garages are full by 7.40 am. Sometimes it takes 20 or 30 minutes to find a parking spot after 7.30 am.

4 College Junior

Technology: The computers are very nice and up to date, the only negative part is that there are not a large number of them

4 College Sophomore

Administration: Campus police are very helpful and are more concerned about student's safety (in cases of underage drinking) than about making an arrest.

Drug Safety: I can honestly say I know of very very food individuals that do drugs. It is somewhat difficult to find people who do drugs.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: I have never encountered anyone getting in trouble for partying, but I do know that the school takes pretty serious measures against it. It really depends on who the RA's are. You can get kicked out of the dorms.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Tallahassee has its good and its bad parts. FSU's campus is amazing. The scenery is beautiful and the school has so much to offer. Downtown is also very nice and the capitol is pretty cool too. There are some decent places to eat. The mall is okay as well as the movie theaters. Other than that, there can be some areas of town to avoid. Also, the traffic is pretty bad for Florida.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I don't really go out that much because that really isn't my thing, but I do know that those who go out enjoy FSU's nightlife. There is a lot to do usually and a lot of people like the clubs and bars. I personally prefer small gatherings with my friends.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a bunch of great restaurants within walking distance of campus. For instance, Momo's is right off-campus on Tennessee and they make huge pizzas. Also, Voodoo Dog is a hot dog restaurant that puts a bunch of unique toppings, such as macaroni and cheese, on their dogs. There are also coffeeshops and chain restaurants, like Chipotle and McDonald's, that are close to campus as well.

Drug Safety: Drinking is very popular at FSU, but harder drugs are much less talked about. I have heard a few people say that they use Adderall during finals week, but I don't feel that a majority of the students do that here. If you don't want to drink and/or do other drugs, there is little to no pressure by others do so; just know that drinking is a big part of the social life here.

Majors: The process for getting into my Psychology major was relatively simple. Nothing they asked for was too extravagant. You just need to make sure your g.p.a remains at a 2.8 or higher; and to complete all of the necessary coursework, including two labs and up to three semesters of a chosen foreign language along with the other recommended classes.

4 College Senior

Majors: Psychology is a wonderful major program at Florida State University. It is a difficult workload, but not extremely overbearing. The professors are top notch and there are wonderful facilities to aid in your studies as well as great avenues to further your experiences.

Health & Safety: We have an overall safe campus, there are times when mishaps will happen, but overall the police and security keep us well updated and safe.

5 College Senior

Majors: I am attempting an internship this coming year. Find help through your school in order to find available internships as well as places in surrounding areas/online in your focus area to help you with your search.

4 College Senior

Majors: To enter my program, I had to complete required courses and achieve a certain GPA. I experienced no difficulties getting into my program, and am very happy with my experience! The process for admission has recently changed, leaving many students unclear and unable to receive admission based on the requirements.

4 College Senior

Majors: I enjoyed the workload in my program. I felt assignments were major specific and really worked to challenge and guide students in the major for success. The teaching staff were all incredibly helpful and really cared about students and their success. My program was located in the stadium of my university. It made going to classes interesting and helped me feel my school spirit!
