Diversity: Coming from Miami, I find that FSU is not very diverse.

Off-Campus Housing: You are paying for proximity, not quality.

Party Scene: There are plenty of paces to drink and dance.

Campus Quality: We usually have big turnouts for on campus events.

Off-Campus Dining: It's a nice break from the on campus cafeterias.

Campus Housing: I've never lived on campus, but my boyfriend does. His dorm is unique in that it has a kitchen, living room, bathroom, a desk, and a separate bedroom (he lives in Rogers if you're curious), but the quality of the room is very poor, and it is NOT spacious at all.

Party Scene: The first party I went to at FSU was near the stadium,, and there were so many people there! Probably over 3000. The cover charge was $2 and you could go in and out if you had a wristband (which you get when you walk in).

Technology: I would definitely bring your own computer. You don't have to have one in class most of the time, but you will need it for school work.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Academics at FSU are great. You learn a lot, but you have to study.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I've heard some complaints about professors from my friends, but I really haven't had a bad experience with it. Some of them were tough, but that meant that I learned more in that class. Landis is a great place to relax and study if you want to get some vitamin D, but Dirac and Strozier are great libraries.

Transportation: I don't use public transportation, or know anyone that does, but there are a few bus stops around campus, and parking spots that are specifically designated for zip cars .

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: I'm a girl, but the guys on campus are pretty attractive overall. You can go anywhere at any given time and probably see at least a handful of unbelievably attractive men.

Campus Quality: Just by visiting FSU you can feel something very different. FSU's campus is exactly what people imagine when they think of "college." The campus is absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn't trade the view I get walking to class everyday for anything.

Weather: Florida is known for rainy days in the summer and beautiful weather as the year progresses. Tallahassee is a perfect example of that.

Athletics: Athletics at FSU are a HUGE part of student life. All you have to do is look at the 2013 football season.

Scholarships: FSU offers many scholarships, along with Florida Prepaid, Bright Futures, and any other scholarships you may have earned. I didn't apply for a loan, but getting the money that I had earned was challenging. I was expecting this just because its such a large university.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Security on campus is pretty good. I feel very safe walking by myself to class everyday. I've really only seen the cops giving tickets and breaking up parties, so they're not too overbearing.

Overall Experience: I am loving my time at FSU. I was from Gainesville, so I was used to the partying town, but Tallahassee is so much better that Gainesville. In Tallahassee it is easy to make friends, or at least pretend like you have a lot of friends. All you have to do is go around campus the day before a big football game and say "Go Noles" to strangers passing by. The classes are good, and the Greek life is very prominent.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: It depends on when you are trying to park, and how far you are willing to walk. For example, Friday nights and Saturdays during football season, it is almost impossible to find decent parking, so you might have to walk farther. Most of the time though, parking really isn't that bad.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: There are many non Greeks who think that greeks are stuck up and snobby, but that is the same at every school. Given that FSU is a party school, many others like when Greeks throw parties. But even non greeks won't discriminate. Greeks have friends both inside and outside that Greek circle.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: I don't really use the public transportation but it is free for students which is very convenient.

Athletics: go noles! We want bama!

Parking: There is definitely not enough parking spaces on campus. Especially since overnight parking is only allowed on the top floor.

Diversity: The campus seems very diverse. It is not uncommon to meet someone who is from or has a background in a foreign country.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
