Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus at FSU. They have safety points all around campus that you can press, in emergency, to have the FSUPD show up in less than 120 seconds. I get alerts when crimes happen and are reported on campus, and they are very infrequent and usually very small crimes like theft (stolen phone or purse) and the victim is unharmed. I carry pepperspray just in case, but have never needed it.

Diversity: The school is very open to all cultures, sexes, sexual orientations, ethnicity, etc.

Technology: Access is really good. There is a computer lab in many of the buildings on campus as well as all of the libraries. Any student can use these. There is also wifi in many areas on campus for those who choose to bring computers. Also, access to printers and copiers is available on campus.

Parking: Parking permits are free as they are included in tuition as parking/transportation fee. You can always find a spot on campus, but it might not always be where you want. F.S.U. is a big walking campus so you can't always park right next to the building you will be going to. One plus is the bus system is really good for getting around campus and going to campus in case you are worried about campus or don't have a car.

Campus Food: The dining halls have nice atmosphere, but the food is standard cafeteria food: medium-low grade, low variety. If only I could tell you the amount of grilled cheeses I had in one week....

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: Many people of differing diversities and nationalities. A great blend of everything and much acceptance for who you are, which is always a plus.

Administration: I don't have too much experience with this, but I've heard many good things about it. Police seem to be very fair.

Greek Life: Greek life is definitely a large part of FSU's campus life and it seems that most of the people I meet are a part of it. They do great things for the community, have a lot of fun and most people involved in Greek life seem to be pretty nice!

Diversity: There is wide variety of race, religion, and economic background at FSU and I think it's great. I'm always meeting new people with interesting stories to tell.

Parking: TERRIBLE. Need to get to class super early for a spot.

Scholarships: I got a decent amount of aid but I'm a VERY good student and I work a part time job. I still struggle financially so I wish I received more.

Party Scene: I love the bars in Tally! I always have a good time. Parties are my favorite though.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: I love FSU's school spirit! I like going to the football games.

Campus Food: I've eaten at the dining halls once. Not that great but that's why I don't have a meal plan. The food around campus is great though! Einstein's, Chili's, Subway, Starbucks etc.

Administration: FSU campus police are very strict on drug usage and underage drinking on campus. On the other hand, they respect college traditions such as swimming in the numerous fountains on campus and will let students have a good time while maintaining a safe environment.

4 College Senior

Weather: For most of the year the weather at FSU is perfect, you get all the sunshine of Florida practically year round with the weather consistency of southern Georgia, leading to many cool breezes on sunny days.

2 College Senior

Parking: Parking is not great, but there are spaces available if you are willing to search long enough

Campus Quality: FSU has 5 libraries, gyms and full scale rec centers to keep any physically active person busy for a long time. There are open green areas to play sports or read a book underneath many of the shady trees that have been there for generations. FSU also has a great student union that has many things to offer students such as a video game parlor and a full scale movie theater that is completely free.

Health & Safety: Campus police are strict on drug use, but when it comes to alcohol, they are more concerned with student safety than doling out punishment. I've heard of students who have been caught drunk outdoors at night getting rides home from policemen. There's plenty of public and safe transportation at night for students who have been drinking. While I always keep my pepper spray on me and limit my outdoor activity at night to walking back to my dorm from the library, I feel pretty safe on campus. I receive campus alerts through text on my phone, and in a year of living on campus, there was one alert about an attempted mugging and another about an attempted assault. The rest were weather warnings.

Administration: It's usually only very large parties that attract police. In those cases they only arrest visibly drunk minors. When they discover drunk students out at night, its usually the student safety that they are most concerned about. Underage or not, lone groups of students caught drinking are usually let off with a warning and often given a ride home. Campus police are much tougher on drug use and possession, both of which usually result in arrest. All in all, you have to be discreet about alcohol use, but campus police have always made me feel safe rather than anxious.

Parking: Only certain parking garages on campus allow week-long student parking for students who live on campus. All the garages are free but on weekends or game days some garages will tow student cars as they are reserved for visitors. The earlier in the day it is the easier it is to find a spot. It's best to arrive on campus an hour before your class if you want to find a spot and still be on time.

Party Scene: There is always something to do here at FSU. Even during Midterms and Finals there arte non-stop parties. Get ready to get Shmacked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTtkQwijU1U

Greek Life: I'm not involved with Greek life but my roommate states that it is very time-consuming

Off-Campus Housing: There are many apartments but they vary in distance, quality, and cost. The best apartments is Campus Circle but it is expensive - around $680 a month not including electricity, but it comes with cable, internet, a dishwasher/ dryer, and a huge tv. There are 4 other apartment complexes that are cheaper but have certain issues in there respective neighborhoods. Having a car and a job nullify these issues.

Administration: Everything has been pretty fair. Protest are allowed and your individual rights aren't suppressed by Campus PD. People do get away with the occasional drink, but overall most things happen off campus so there isn't really an issue on campus.
