Health & Safety: During the day, FSU's campus is pretty safe, there's usually many people wherever you go so there is low crime rate when there's light outside. However, at night there have been several reports of attempted battery, theft, and even rape on and near campus. Most of the time these incidences happened when people were walking alone after midnight. The Tallahassee police seem to be pretty good at doing their job, though.

Weather: Its Florida so its always hot even in our so called winters which last like 2 weeks lol. In the summer, expect rain because its hurricane season but the weather is always beautiful.

Off-Campus Housing: Very reasonably priced and flexible with leasing options. Also has a lot of great amenities that come included like being furnished and having cable internet and electricity!

3 College Junior

Greek Life: It doesn't matter whether you're part of an organization or not, but it is definitely something to look into because they look very interesting.

3 College Junior

Parking: Its free but definitely fills up quick. And the campus is huge to get around on foot when your classes are across campus.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: Very active college town. Has a lot of events always advertised around town and very controlled so it doesn't get out of hand.

5 College Senior

Athletics: Varsity sports are huge at FSU (predominantly football and basketball). Tailgates last for hours, as well as the after game parties. Everyone dresses up head to toe and will scream their head off on their way to and from the game as well as during it. Our warchant is one to be reckoned with. The traditions of Chief Osceola and Renegade running across the field and Chief Osceola planting the spear on the 50-yard line is hugeeee at getting the crowd going, as well as our AWESOME marching band.

Parking: Parking is HORENDOUS! It is almost impossible to get a parking spot inbetween the hours of 8:30-4:00 in the parking garage in the center of campus. The "sketch-lots" are always full. The psychology/medical garage is always full after 10:30 as well as the other two garages. Tickets are easy to come by if you're not smart about where you park. Just follow the rules, and you'll be ok. Permit costs are free, which is nice.

2 College Senior

Administration: The police patrol the campus and outer lines of the campus at night (especially near the dorms) looking for underage drinkers/inebriated drivers. They are also huge on parking. No butt-in parking, no parking in teacher lots, no parking in certain lots over night. It is very easy to be ticketed if you're not careful.

Majors: As a criminal justice major, I am planning on an internship with Homeland Security. I shadowed a special agent previously and I was convinced by the end of the day that that was what I wanted to do with my life. I am concerned about finding an internship since they just changed the program that HSI accepts interns and no one could really give me any advice about it. Also, I am not bilingual, which gives others a leg up over me.

College Senior

Majors: There are not many difficulties of getting into the criminal justice major at my school. I believe it requires that you cannot go below a 2.5 and cannot get any D's or F's. As long as you meet those requirements, you're ok.

Majors: As a Criminology major, I love every aspect of the major. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I plan to go into Homeland Security or the Drug Enforcement Administration. I am a little concerned about finding an internship because I have to go through the intern coordinator, who talked down to me and was discouraging me by stereotyping me as "a typical blonde girl who is only interested in criminology because of the TV shows". Other than that, I have shadowed a special agent in HSI and has assisted me in a few things here and there.

Majors: I love the classes and the professors in my major. The only thing I don't like, is that it's almost impossible to find classes to take.

College Sophomore

Scholarships: I'm not too sure about the scholarships offered at fsu. The only scholarship I receive is Bright Futures which is not given by FSU.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: The Diversity on FSU'S campus is almost exceptional. There are Hipsters, lesbians, artists, ect. It is easy to find a variety of people to relate to and enjoy in whatever way you like! Be it drinking, or staying up late and exploring campus!

Health & Safety: On campus i always feel safe, even when im alone at night. the school has recently set up lil alert post all over the school and in the parking garages so if someone is in need of help you can press the button and can be located quickly. The school also has it set up so that whenever a dangerous situation is going on, or has happen, the students get emails and text.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking passes are free but student spaces fill up quickly and if you do not park in designated areas you'll probably get a ticket.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: Parking on campus is free which is good but spaces fill up quickly and if you're not in designated student parking you'll probably get a ticket. The bus system is ok. Campus buses go to most of the areas around the school and nearby apartments. They have an app that allows you to check where they are. City buses are free with student ID but the routes can be confusing at first.

Off-Campus Housing: You have the choice between apartments or houses. Houses are cheap.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Just starting Freshman year but I think it looks pretty good.

3 College Senior

Weather: It is extremely hot at the beginning of Fall semester ! The weather is sunny, usually. One cancellation of classes per year, due to the weather. We are on the coast of Florida, so weather is a player, but no too often.

Diversity: You meet so many different people at Florida Sate, not just ethnically, but from various different backgrounds as well. Everyone simply has a different mindset on so many different things. You'll find that you're learning so many new things from your classes, as well as your friends.

Athletics: The varsity sports at FSU are really important to the overall dynamic of the campus. On game days, you're going to be dealing with the band playing and the fans oozing out of every place you can think of. It's a really great and wonderful experience to be a part of.

Parking: The parking is pretty decent. There are parking garages, as well as lots. You definitely need a parking permit though, unless you want to get a ticket.

2 College Senior

Scholarships: There are not a lot of variety in scholarships offered at Florida State. You get minimal help in attendance, even though the school is fantastic.
