Guys & Girls

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Everyone I've met, even complete strangers, are friendly and open-minded individuals.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The guys and girls are nice sometimes. I usually talk to them about classes and getting some advice about a few things I'm not familiar with.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Students trend between fraternity and sorority shirts and logos, and trends such as lilly pulitzer, and yacht club-ish attire.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Friendly students everywhere I look. I like to spend time at the gym and make new friends in the fitness classes.

College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There's no way I could review the boys and girls at my school without it being biased.

Having a small student body compared to universities, Florida Southern's students get to know each other very well. It is common to become friends with someone just because you pass each other on campus several times a day. Students are outgoing and generally friendly to each other. However, there are the select few students who are very well-off and come off as stuck up to many people. This is rare, but still present among the friendliness of everyone else.

Girls are much more plentiful than guys on campus. While this can sometimes be a problem for girls who are trying to find a guy, girls still manage to find guys who fit their tastes. Guys, on the other hand, have many more options. Yet, dating between students is not all too common. More relationships develop off campus than on campus. Guys and girls alike are not abnormally promiscuous or conservative. There is a mix between those who hook up all the time and those who do not.

Birth Control Available?
During freshman orientation, students are told to talk to staff members of the Life and Cultural Center about any sexual health questions. Birth control can then be arranged after a talk, but birth control is not readily available otherwise.

Social Scene
Students are mostly outgoing. Florida Southern has a small student body and campus, so students really get to know each other throughout the year. Hanging out on campus-whether in a dorm room, the cafeteria, or around the lake-is common. Going out to the movies or bars is also common for nighttime.
Hookups or Relationships?
Most students either have a serious long-distance relationship or they keep their options open. Other than that, there is not a lot of casual dating among students.
Dress Code
The clothing for class is either very trendy or very relaxed-although closer to finals there is more of the latter. Being a private college, there is definitely a preppy crowd, but there is still a diverse mix of clothing. For situations other than class, the clothing is normally stylish, and students are dressed to impress.
