4 College Freshman

Local Area: Fort Myers/Estero is a beautiful area. There are many parks and recreation facilities, which offer a wonderful environment for experiencing the outdoors or exercising. There are several shopping centers located near by, which contain something for everyone. The area is relatively safe, although there may be a few sections to be wary of. I love the diversity of the different people living here, especially those attending my school.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: While the local area is mostly senior citizens, there is a lot that you can still do as a student. There is many things going on in the shopping center and we are also almost 20 mins away from the beach.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: There are not many area attractions within the town. This is not to say that there are none at all, because there are some things to do. I think that the off campus shops and activities are geared more toward older citizens and not college students.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: There aren't many things to do off campus except for shopping, the beach which is a drive, and a wakeboarding park, which is also a fair distance.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: I love the surrounding area. There's always a place to eat although not too much of a party scene

Students have the Gulf Coast Town Center and the Miromar Outlets very close to campus, which offer a variety of stores and restaurants. However, other than these places, there's not much to do off campus. Eating and shopping are the main attractions, but not everyone enjoys this all of the time.

Students usually entertain themselves by finding stuff to do on campus. Overall, Florida Gulf Coast University is a beautiful campus, and the student body is very friendly.
