Guys & Girls

{{ error }}
4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There are two types of students. Some are involved in a sorority/fraternity, very social, and not especially focused on academics. Stereotypically, these students are typically fashionably dressed and presentable. A popular trend for girls on my campus is Michael Kors. For the most part, guys and girls on campus spend at least some effort on their appearance. On the other hand, some students spend their time studying, applying for service-learning opportunities, and engaging in other academically challenging experiences. These students do not necessarily put as much effort into their social life, but manage to stay active in the community with others like them. Overall, both "types" of students attend classes together and are able to interact appropriately.

Guys & Girls: People are awesome, though more guys than girls are single (because of long-distance or non-collegiate boyfriends/girlfriends). More girls than guys go to FGCU, though, so if you're a girl you shouldn't have trouble attracting...suitors? People dress well, most folks are normal, and unless you drift into a Registered Student Organization (most students don't actively participate in extracurriculars), you probably won't encounter too many weirdos (beyond the kids who speak out too much in class). Social life is similar to most high schools and colleges, though parties are virtually non-existent compared to virtually every other school in Florida. You'll still have fun, just not at some cool dive bar or something; everyone goes to mainstream chain-style bars and grilles to party, and there's maybe one or two locations in a 20 mile radius that cater to a younger-than-35 clientele.

The student body population at FGCU is consistently growing. The campus has a wide variety of students in terms of style and personality. If what you are looking for is the dating scene, then there are many single people and lots of events for socializing and interaction. However, there are many students who are in relationships with other students on campus. Another downside is that FGCU has a lot of girls and not very many guys.

There are many socials on campus to meet other people, especially other single people. Greek life is how many of the freshmen or transfer students meet new people. Even though there are more females than males, there is still a dating scene on campus. People are also able to express their individual style freely.
