Drug Safety: FGCU takes a strong stance on alcohol and drug usage. As any typical college there is drugs and alcohol present, however, it isn't as predominant as it is in other schools I have visited. You will never walk across any sign of drinking or drug usage or feel the presence of it. Students at FGCU do partake in in the usage of alcohol and drug usage but it is either very discrete or very minimal. Attending social events and parties where alcohol has been present, I have never personally been or felt peer pressured by anyone, nor have I ever witnessed it. The students are very aware that FGCU has a strict no drug and underage drinking policy, so students are very cautious in the decisions they make with regards to substance abuse knowing it will ultimately lead to academic suspension or expulsion from the school.

Drug Safety: Everybody on this campus smokes weed and is a dealer.

Drug Safety: Drugs try to be enforced and limited but it still occurs and can be hidden very well. It's easily accessible for students.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: I've only heard of a few instances of students getting in trouble for drugs or alcohol.

Drug Safety: Not particularly involved thus there's not much from the overall population. Although law enforcement is strict and usually always catch those breaking rules against drugs.

At Florida Gulf Coast University, if people want to do drugs, they can find them as long as they know where to go. The school, on the other hand, does have a zero-tolerance policy on drugs. The dorms have strict rules about underage drinking. Mostly, the drug scene is popular amongst the guys and takes place off campus. People do like to get high, but most people are heavy drinkers, many being kicked out of clubs for drinking. You are bound to find a stoner or an alcoholic somewhere on campus.

If someone wants to do drugs and have the "college experience," there are "parties" on and off campus where you just have to know people who do them and know where to go. While you don't have to party or do drugs to enjoy your time at FGCU, the University has the reputation of being a "party school." But like any other college or university, there will be parties, drinking, and drug use—just like in the real world.
