Campus Housing: Living in Sovi was the greatest. I'll be in North Lake next year and I'm pretty excited!

5 College Senior

Campus Housing: Beautiful!! North lake apartments are on a lake and has their own beach with swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, wake boarding, and more. The freshman housing is beautiful and looks brand new with a big pool and tanning chairs in the middle. You can have one roommate or two and you all have your own bedroom and can have your own car. Off campus housing is either the apartments right near the bars (so close you can walk) or at the brand new apartments called "the Reef" which is a BEAUTIFUL community living area just built with their own gym, pool, hammocks, sand volleyball, own rooms and even a tanning bed! It doesn't get any better than FGCU.

Campus Housing: It was a joy living on campus freshman year.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The best housing I've ever seen, might be best in nation.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Our dorms have separate bedrooms for every resident, which is extremely rare in most university housing options. The cost is very appropriate considering all the buildings have to offer. There are game rooms, classrooms, kitchens, multipurpose rooms, laundry facilities, and even movie theaters right inside the dorm buildings. The social atmosphere is very tight-knit and active, as there are events nearly every night. The housing lottery is very straightforward in its selection process, and paying for it is easy through the online portal.

The student response to campus living at FGCU is very positive. The freshman dorms, which are called South Village, are very nice and a great way for freshmen to meet people. The other dorms on campus include North Lake Village, which is apartment-style living. Most people say the kitchens are nice and that North Lake is close to the center of campus. The difference between South Village and North Lake is that at South Village, you only have one roommate and bathroom—no kitchen in your dorm room. At North Lake, you have three other roommates and a kitchen. The dorms have a well-equipped gym, a pool, a great campus restaurant, and many social events for the residents.

There's also West Lake Village, which is an off-campus apartment-style living option located near Gulf Coast Town Center. West Lake has very nice apartments and includes a shuttle service to and from main campus. Other than taking a shuttle from West Lake to campus, if you need to go anywhere, you can usually be there in just a 10-minute walk.
