Campus Housing: I love living on campus here at Florida Gulf Coast University and intend to stay living on campus until I graduate. It is really close to campus which is great. The social atmosphere is wonderful, everyone is close by each other and able to get to know each other. The dorms are great and come with good ami

Campus Housing: The best part about dorm living is that you get your own room. In most schools you are sleeping in the same room as at least one other person. At my school, you share a dorm with one or 2 people but you sleep in your own room. There is 2 bathrooms. One with a sink and a shower and the other has a sink and a toilet. Then there is a little common area and 2 separate doors to each bedroom. It is there best if you like to have privacy. It is also spacious which makes people be more social in my opinion. If you are crowded into one area it makes people grumpy. The buildings are perfect distance from each other and the dining hall and pool are right in the middle of everything. Usually if you are walking to the dining hall or pool you see someone you know because the middle is a main walkway for everyone. There are places to go to be around people and places to go if you don't want to be around people.

Campus Housing: no one really speaks to each other in my building but the buildings themselves aren't too bad.

Campus Housing: On campus makes it look enjoyable for anyone who wants to live there. I personally wish I live on campus but I rather save up my money. It's great!

Campus Housing: All of the on campus housing facilities are very clean and seem to be well put together. The social atmosphere seems to be dull most of the time due to the fact that there is not much to do.

The student response to campus living at FGCU is very positive. The freshman dorms, which are called South Village, are very nice and a great way for freshmen to meet people. The other dorms on campus include North Lake Village, which is apartment-style living. Most people say the kitchens are nice and that North Lake is close to the center of campus. The difference between South Village and North Lake is that at South Village, you only have one roommate and bathroom—no kitchen in your dorm room. At North Lake, you have three other roommates and a kitchen. The dorms have a well-equipped gym, a pool, a great campus restaurant, and many social events for the residents.

There's also West Lake Village, which is an off-campus apartment-style living option located near Gulf Coast Town Center. West Lake has very nice apartments and includes a shuttle service to and from main campus. Other than taking a shuttle from West Lake to campus, if you need to go anywhere, you can usually be there in just a 10-minute walk.
