Florida Gulf Coast University Reviews
Rating 3.87 out of 5 2,677 reviews
Florida Gulf Coast University is a great university if you are looking for a newer campus that is not too big or too small. Class sizes are typically an ideal 35-50 people. The only issues I have faced are a few difficult/unmotivated professors, struggles with getting available housing for next year, and there not being enough spots in classes when registering. However, this school is extremely safe and has many supportive resources for students mentally, physically, and academically. I would not choose to go to college anywhere else!
At Florida Gulf Coast, I can confidently attest to the great academic programs and help that is provided to students. From its weekly on-campus events to its variety of food options, FGCU has everything needed to relax in between and after classes. One thing that could be better is its student advising. While they are always busy and trying their hardest, it is often difficult to even see your advisor due to limited availability. Overall, FGCU is a great school. The thing I enjoy most about it is how much they have incorporated nature into their campus. I have had a great experience being a student here.
I wish it was in a better area, not much to do off campus. The campus is good. It is a larger campus but also small feel. The graduate courses are fun and smaller sized depending on what you major in. The students are mostly welcoming and are there to help you excel along with the professors. The gen eds are mostly easy, they have a larger class size compared to your regular classes. There is a lot to do on campus and friends to make. I would recommend going here if you want a medium sized campus to live on and enjoy. Most students are local residents from Florida. If you're in the area there are most likely a lot of people from your old school or area there, but there is also a lot of other students to meet. They have a lot of good extra curriculars too. The college is a good one and is fun to attend. The on campus life is pretty good. There is a lot of parking spots available. I just want there to be a little more to do and make it feel like its own town. Otherwise the campus' fun...
