Administration: I really don't see any strictness that is out of the ordinary for college campuses at FAU. The policies in place don't affect me in my academic or social life and I don't see it impacting my peers negatively either.

Administration: I think the strictness is average for any college.

4 College Junior

Administration: I, honestly do not mind the admin. I feel like they are pretty decent and fair when it comes to most things.

Administration: FAU has a lot of rule and regulations in place that work to benefit the student in the best way

4 College Sophomore

Administration: It's really just like any normal university. Obviously some of the officers will enforce more strictly, but FAU is definitely really serious about parking.

Overall, campus strictness is pretty average on campus. However, the University has some weird rules. A freshman who lives more than 50 miles away from campus is required to live on campus in a dorm. Because so many students live outside of the Boca Raton region, this has caused an influx of students living on campus, which in turn has caused some cramping.

In terms of drug abuse violations on campus, after one violation, a student is suspended from student housing, is on probation for a year, and has to complete mandatory evaluation and counseling. After a second violation, a student has to complete 50 hours of community service, is suspended for one year, and has to complete an educational program in addition to paying a fine for the administrative costs for providing the program.
