Overall Experience: My first two classes ever were last week, YAY. Mom, I have made it. The teachers are great and seem like they are actual passionate about teaching. It isn't high school, here the teachers care about there jobs and dont come hungover, true story. Beside the point i like my teachers and would be great if i could get to be friends with them.

Overall Experience: The only thing that scares me and give me hope is that I am after the baby boom generation. I don't feel as if the old generations realize this, but young people are going to have to fill some major roles in society, but don't have the capital to do so. Due to this modern generation, people aren't having the same number of babies that the older generations had post WW2. This means i am either going to have to be a special someone, or the market will collapse due to the loss of jobs and careers.

Health & Safety: I personally have never felt so safe. Here's why. Coming from, Atlanta, where corner there a gang, and the next is a police station. Coming to FAU has been great for my sense of safety. With a 24/7 police department, i can walk around campus and not worry.

Campus Housing: Being privileged, and living in a big house my entire life has been nice to me. I would be able to have space to myself, not having to cram into a 10x11 room with thin walls. I wish i could live at home, but sadly i can not. I am from Georgia, where the tremendous magnolias grow free and the pines grow tall. Living on campus can't bring that sense of home, that home has, but what it does offer is convenience. I am able to walk to class and go out to lunch all in walking distance. I can hit the REC center and work to get of some extra lbs that i may have gained. The only thing that on campus living can't offer is my real family. Yes i am surrounded by friends, but it's not the same.

Greek Life: Just yesterday, I met with some of the brothers, and they were so nice, Offering jobs and having fun raisers. Greek life offers a sense of community and bonding that would be hard to find. The brothers at Men of Sigma were great, talking about culture and presence around campus. If you don't go Greek, your not a geek. Greek Life is a choice, not an obligation that you must fulfill. If you don't, it's just as normal if you do. Sometime Greek life isn't for you, maybe it is. In my opinion, don't knock it till you try it.

Athletics: FAU is not that power football school that some look for in college, but don't let that fool you, because FAU athletics are on the rise. Here me out, our starting quarterback, for football, was a rookie last year, first year, and he did great. Almost beating Florida, sadly losing in overtime, brings hope for the future. The OWLS are on the hunt, looking for prey, and demolishing competition. OH and did I mention that FAU's paintbal teaml is FIRST in the WORLD! That's Right, THE WORLD. Paintball doesn't get the same sense of school spirit that comes with football, but there is more to offer than just football. Every year more and more teams are branching out to become the best at something, whether it is paintball or quittage, don't let ESPN tell you that your sport isn't good enough, be heard, more important, show them who is boss.

Overall Experience: This is my second week at Florida Atlantic University, and i am proud to say that i am an owl. If I could review FAU(Florida Atlantic University) in one word it would be, everything, let me explain. There is nothing that FAU doesn't offer, it is so encompassing with all of its surroundings. There is a beach 10 minutes, which offers a safe haven for those student who need to relax from a stressful day of schooling. There is a huge Campus Rec Center which offers anything from the gym to basketball to poolside lounge. After you use all of the amenities on campus, you can come back to the dorms for some outdoor volleyball. FAU is the most interesting and diverse school around and would challenge any statements that claim otherwise. Having a diverse ambiance on campus gives FAU that sense of home away from home, which is nice for the boy that misses his mom, SHHHH don't tell her I said that though, she will tell everyone. I really do miss my family and I tell them that, but that is beside the point. FAU provides that nurturing that one needs to feel safe and surrounded by people that love them. After all of this, all i can say is GO OWLS, HOOT HOOT.

Overall Experience: I haven't used this resource yet.

2 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: The dorms regularly get infested with ants, the laundry room is usually covered in clothes that people never come back for, the elevators frequently break and trap people between floors, the washing machines break alot, and the cable gets fuzzy.

3 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: I don't really see them around campus unless they are fundraising.

3 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: They are not widely advertised and the arenas are far away from student housing making it hard to attended them.

For most students, FAU was not their first-choice school. While it is a large school, most students are commuters, and it seems as though almost anyone can be accepted. However, once students arrive on campus, they realize that there are many activities and events to get involved with and that maybe their experience will not be so bad after all.

FAU is an up-and-coming school and is growing in students and facilities every year. However, most students do not plan to attend for their entire college career. Many are just using FAU to get their feet on the ground and to get general education classes out of the way. A huge percent of the student population transfers after two years to a larger, more college-town type of school.
