Party Scene: There is nothing to do at night on campus. My friends and I travel all the way to Miami in order to hav a great night.

Party Scene: There are no parties and when FAU throws a party it is only one type of group of people who show up.

Academics: I do not really see a big change in the academics. I just believe that the percentages in order to pass this class is ridiculous.

Drug Safety: I have met friends of friends that talk about taking acid like taking candy. Many boys take ecstacy whenever they go to the club or to a party. Alcohol is always on campus. Its in water bottles, backpacks, and anything kids can think of.

Campus Housing: I do enjoy living on campus. It is very enjoyable and I have made really good friends with my suit mate and floor mates. I believe living on campus is the best way to make friends

Athletics: The football team is very much sad to even watch. They have no formation and cannot perform in the 4th quarter. I have recently been watching the basketball team play and I have to say they look like a middle school team. The have no plays that penetrate towards the basket. Their offense is so mediocre that it is cringe worthy

Greek Life: The greek life seems like something I would generally like to become a part of but it seems as though the greek life only speaks to those who are in it. I also do not believe in the fact that I must pay in order to make friends and if they do not think I am worthy they will not allow me to join.

Health & Safety: I do not really know what the safety and security on campus do. I have yet to even seen a campus security guard on campus.

Campus Housing: My dorm was great but a lot of my friends lived in older dorms that had a of problems with cleanliness - mostly mold problems

Greek Life: No substance, just everyones way of trying to fit in. If you hear someone here is a part of greek life, 90% of the time you have to avoid them

Athletics: Our football stadium is gorgeous but all we do in it is lose

Overall Experience: FAU has good and bad factors - Boca is just about the worst place to live if you're a college student. Most of the people around here are rude, everything is overly expensive, and nothing stays open past 10pm. The school cares more about a football stadium and construction projects than the burrowing owls whose homes they are destroying and building over. The school is overtaken by Greek Life and its conformity, and unless you sell your soul and stoop to their levels there isn't much to do. However, the weather is always gorgeous, most professors care about you and your grade and I have never had a problem with advisors or university staff.

Overall Experience: Overall I have loved the teachers. I have really enjoyed some really boring classes because the teachers are what made it fun.

Greek Life: I find that the sorority girls tend to flock together and do not look to broaden their horizons and befriend people outside of the sorority.

Athletics: Not many people are enthusiastic about going to sporting events. People don't really go to football games or basketball games. As a student this is disappointing because I was looking for a college experience that involved going to big sporting events along with half the student body but this is not the case.

Overall Experience: Most of my experience has been pretty good. I have liked almost all of my professors; there has only been one I was not fond of. The advisors are always willing to help and nice, the financial aid center people are hard to get a hold of. E-mailing your financial aid advisor does not work, which is frustrating when you may not have time to stop in and see him or her.

Diversity: The campus is very diversified. Everyone is accepted. I have not seen any issues or I have not been put into any bad situations.

For most students, FAU was not their first-choice school. While it is a large school, most students are commuters, and it seems as though almost anyone can be accepted. However, once students arrive on campus, they realize that there are many activities and events to get involved with and that maybe their experience will not be so bad after all.

FAU is an up-and-coming school and is growing in students and facilities every year. However, most students do not plan to attend for their entire college career. Many are just using FAU to get their feet on the ground and to get general education classes out of the way. A huge percent of the student population transfers after two years to a larger, more college-town type of school.
