Overall Experience: its my first year at the university so i am looking to have a good college experience while living under my parents belt. but hoping the commuting wouldn't be so bad compared to the torturous experience i had in suncoast high school

Overall Experience: School didn't seem too bad. Pretty big and confusing to get around in my opinion. Didn't like how they make you choose courses before orientation and then basically tell you other stuff you need to pick instead of what you chose, makes things confusing. FIU (was originally going to go there) has you choose courses at orientation so you can get the right courses picked. Food at FAU is great though. Love the fact that you're allowed to use a longboard or skateboard as a method of getting around campus.

Overall Experience: I like the school so far. I like that it's not to big of a campus its just the right size. I'm excited to be going to this school.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I like the location and the look of the campus. It's bigger than I thought. My favorite experiences are some of my classes and teachers.

Overall Experience: The self-service program can be confusing to navigate.

Overall Experience: I'm a transfer student working on my bachelors degrees and my transition has been great it's all and time management with your schedule and the advisors I've seen 2 different people so find one that can answer all your questions and not base an opinion on what they think is best, it's up to students as well. The school is well put together and has a lot to offer a especially tutoring, I'm sure used my fair share of time getting extra help at no cost which I'm thankful for.

Overall Experience: I actually have not begun my classes at FAU yet, but I happen to be very excited for the opportunities that are to come. Many have told my a lot of spectacular things about the school. I have seen the campus and t's popping with people, very lively, and very clean and new as well. Many young adults call FAU home. The college offers many opportunities to participate in the school and even in the community. I'm very excited for the student accessed gym! I know my experience at FAU is going to be a blast and that I am going to engage in many new friendships.

Overall Experience: Had great professors, but the advisors basically read the website.

Overall Experience: Very nice , open , and friendly

Overall Experience: I absolutely love FAU. people are friendly and there are always activities going on on campus. most things are within walking distance but you may have to drive to get there if it rains. Also the school is close enough to Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach that you can make a day trip. I would say the worst thing to deal with is the office, mainly because it is slow, or they can't always answer you question.

Overall Experience: I go to the Honors College of FAU in Jupiter and I absolutely love it there. It's small and acts more like a community than just a school. Everyone knows each other and is always there to help out a fellow colleague. The teachers are brilliant and personable. The students and the staff know each other very well and it's very advantageous for when we need help with school or our personal life. We have amazing events on campus that bring everyone together. The Honors College is a home to me and everyone else at our school.

Overall Experience: I havent started at FAU yet. I am transferring in the fall but so far it's been an alright process. The only negatives i have to say about the school is that housing is really expensive because of the area and it is almost impossible to get a hold of someone when i call. The only positive i have so far is that the campus is pretty.

Overall Experience: There's nothing to complain about. I wish there were more clubs and degree options but otherwise I am satisfied. My main problem is that a computer science degree requires engineering classes which have nothing to do with comp sci.

Overall Experience: I wish the classes were a bit more challenging. Not my best choice in attending this university but it's okay.

Overall Experience: Great big campus, with lots of nice people and super quick and easy access to the local Atlantic beaches.

Administration: I really don't see any strictness that is out of the ordinary for college campuses at FAU. The policies in place don't affect me in my academic or social life and I don't see it impacting my peers negatively either.

Campus Food: There is a Starbucks and a cafeteria on campus, as far as I know. I'm only there once a week and in the evenings so I've not had the chance to taste the food in the cafeteria. But, the Starbucks is awesome and the customer service is excellent. I can't speak much on the meal plan/flex dollars as I don't participate in those.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of off campus dinning options but they are expensive.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

For most students, FAU was not their first-choice school. While it is a large school, most students are commuters, and it seems as though almost anyone can be accepted. However, once students arrive on campus, they realize that there are many activities and events to get involved with and that maybe their experience will not be so bad after all.

FAU is an up-and-coming school and is growing in students and facilities every year. However, most students do not plan to attend for their entire college career. Many are just using FAU to get their feet on the ground and to get general education classes out of the way. A huge percent of the student population transfers after two years to a larger, more college-town type of school.
