Overall Experience: My school is really good. Whichever school you go to, there's always something to complain about, but still I am happy with my decision.

Overall Experience: The school is two miles from the beach and the campus life is great.

Overall Experience: As an AA transfer, I was not informed that some classes would not apply to my major. The University requires that you take the last 30(?) hours on campus. I had to retake these classes, despite having passed them previously. Confer with an advisor at FAU to plan out your courses.

Overall Experience: My experience so far has been amazing. My school is not too far from home and its geographical location is ideal for feeling like being on vacation all the time. I would choose my school again because it has a lot of advantages such being close to home, healthy living area, great programs for my major...etc

Overall Experience: I had dual enrolled here during my senior year of high school and the experience was great. Now, I am a freshman and so far its great. Everyone seems to be really focused in their studies and the teachers that I have had so far are excellent. A lot of people look down on this school, but it is becoming a more competitive school as the semesters go by. Speaking on behalf of myself, the medical school is extremely successful and hands on interactive, which is awesome. Let's not forget to mention, it is right near the beaches and the weather is nice and hot almost all of the time!

Overall Experience: I think the experience of school varies largely with the group of people you come in contact with such as future associates and friends. The fact that I didn't experience getting close to people from the first semester made my experience not as exciting as I thought it would be

Overall Experience: What brought me to FAU was greek life without a bad reputation, school spirit, and proximity to the beach. I didn't exactly have college essay winning reasons at heart. However, once I started I was amazed at the welcoming atmosphere of the students and administration. The FAU Club Fair was a great experience, I wish I had gone my freshman year. You get to see everything the school has to offer and meet a couple people in each club. It's easy to meet friends who share any number of interests.

It's easy to feel like you're at a resort while living on campus, several of the dorms have large luxurious pools where students frequently gather. There are usually volleyball courts and grilling picnic areas accompanying the pools. The Student Rec Center makes my subsequent to college gym memberships look cheap and unimpressive by comparison. A great tip about FAU is Everyone at this university works out.

The only things I wish the school would improve on are: challenging course material, awareness of events on campus, and student advisement. I transferred from a very small university in Connecticut - so I'm not sure whether it was location or school size, as FAU is reasonably larger - but the curriculum was vastly superior in CT. It seemed like the students didn't want to do anything, just pass without trying; and the professors didn't want to do anything - they just wanted the students to pass without having to try themselves. It made for diluted reading choices and lax assignments that felt like: high school the sequel.

Awareness of events on campus: The university needs to streamline and regularly update their various social media feeds. There are several facebooks and two instagrams that seem to be directed at FAU's events, but they're all unofficial and not heavily advertised. The university portal should also have an easier to read feed with administrative, social, and academic events.

Overall Experience: So far, FAU is a really "low-key" school. Everyone kind of minds their own business & they just do what they have to do. I like that. Also, the professors that I have had so far are somewhat concerned about the grades you receive and will try to help any way that they could. Others don't, but that's life. Overall, it's a good school.

Overall Experience: Although my school Florida Atlantic isn't your typical big university, it still offers you the opportunity to do multiple things on campus.

Overall Experience: FAU is a relatively decent size. I dormed in HPT my freshman year and I never needed more than 10 minutes to walk anywhere on campus, but you're allowed to ride a skateboard most places. They have a mobile app with a map of the campus which made it really easy to get around. First couple of weeks of each semester have a bunch of events and the cafeteria food is nice. After that the cafeteria food quality declines a bit and programs and events are a bit scarce, but there is plenty to do in the surrounding area and there are plenty of other places to eat on campus. Overall I found the year I spent there to be quite enjoyable and am excited for the next school year to begin.

Overall Experience: FAU reminds me a lot of high school minus the social interaction. Most people commute to school and very few actually stay on campus longer then they absolutely need to.

Overall Experience: FAU is an amazing school. I have personally been dual enrolling at FAU for a while so I know the whole beat to the school. The size of campus is perfect and very reasonable to walk through. I love the variety of options the school has to offer.

Overall Experience: its my first year at the university so i am looking to have a good college experience while living under my parents belt. but hoping the commuting wouldn't be so bad compared to the torturous experience i had in suncoast high school

Overall Experience: School didn't seem too bad. Pretty big and confusing to get around in my opinion. Didn't like how they make you choose courses before orientation and then basically tell you other stuff you need to pick instead of what you chose, makes things confusing. FIU (was originally going to go there) has you choose courses at orientation so you can get the right courses picked. Food at FAU is great though. Love the fact that you're allowed to use a longboard or skateboard as a method of getting around campus.

Overall Experience: I like the school so far. I like that it's not to big of a campus its just the right size. I'm excited to be going to this school.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I like the location and the look of the campus. It's bigger than I thought. My favorite experiences are some of my classes and teachers.

Overall Experience: The self-service program can be confusing to navigate.

For most students, FAU was not their first-choice school. While it is a large school, most students are commuters, and it seems as though almost anyone can be accepted. However, once students arrive on campus, they realize that there are many activities and events to get involved with and that maybe their experience will not be so bad after all.

FAU is an up-and-coming school and is growing in students and facilities every year. However, most students do not plan to attend for their entire college career. Many are just using FAU to get their feet on the ground and to get general education classes out of the way. A huge percent of the student population transfers after two years to a larger, more college-town type of school.
