3 College Freshman

Local Area: I like the Governor Square Mall, it has all the places I shop at back home.

I do not like that I can not find a descent spa.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: A lot of people don't realize that there is much to do in Tallahassee. I live near Tennessee St., which is the main street of nothing but a plethora of food places. Of course there are other different types of stores like dollar stores and outlets as well. Since I became a college students I would definitely have to say that my favorite store is honestly the Dollar Tree because I never realized the true value of a dollar and how many cool things you could get for a dollar. Even when I become a millionaire I promise that the dollar tree will still be my favorite store to shop at. Aside from the amazing places of eatery, there are nice places to go to just take pictures or relax as well. One of the things that I do to clear my mind and renew it of all positive thoughts, is meditate. So whenever the weather is compliant Lake Ella is definitely one of my favorite places to go do so because being by the water is just so peaceful to me. I am also a nerd, most of the time if I am not home, you could definitely find me at Barnes and Noble, Coleman Library, or our Local Library. I have been to the most beautiful place ever for a photo shoot also called Maclay Gardens! Just full all different types and species of flowers unfathomable! I can't wait to go back because the things that I saw were just priceless. So I said all of this to say, that although Tallahassee is a college town and is expected to be boring, it really isn't, you just have to be an open minded person and broaden your horizon, use your creative mind by finding things to do and constantly feed your brain as I do!

3 College Freshman

Local Area: its alot to do, it is unfortunate that everything is located on FSU side of town.

3 College Junior

Local Area: It's a small town with lots of school activities, bars, and clubs. There's a museum and some other exhibits around town. However, there aren't many grown-up environments like larger cities have to offer.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: There only seems to be things to do during certain times in the year, if school is out there are not many options or activities to participate in.

Life in Tally is what you make it. The city and the locals are very welcoming to the students, but there really isn’t much to do in the city that doesn’t revolve around FAMU or Florida State University. The clubs and parties make life here worthwhile, and school-related events, such as football games, step shows, band competitions, and choir balls, are fun. Probably the best time to enjoy life in Tallahassee is during the homecoming weeks for FAMU and FSU. However, there are a few local attractions to keep students entertained. Lake Ella is a nice spot to take a walk with your significant other, Tallahassee’s art museum is perfect for art lovers, and the local movie theaters are hot spots for students throughout the week.

When students want to venture away from campus, the first place they usually escape to is Governor’s Square Mall. Tallahassee only has two malls, which upsets students, but it doesn’t stop them from hanging out at one of them. Florida State is about a five-minute drive from the FAMU campus, and students at the two universities will hang out: FAMU students like to spend time on the FSU campus, and FSU students like to hang out on The Set at FAMU. Tallahassee also has a community college, which is about 15 minutes from both universities. Overall, most things that students like to do here revolve around college life and not the city’s limited entertainment options and attractions.
