4 College Senior

Campus Quality: the library is open almost 24/7 and there are more than two computer areas

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: The student life is GREAT!!!!!!!

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Its a wonderful facility, especially the library. The library is always filled with students studying, working on projects, or helping each other do homework. It is an amazing place to be to do homework and educational things. But it can get crowded because of the amount of people, but there are other libraries located on campus. I personally have not been to the other libraries yet.

Campus Quality: The place is great. I just love the atmosphere that all the other college students create when I am in a building with them.

The campus is well-maintained and kept looking beautiful with the help of the janitorial and regular staffs. The landscaping and architecture of the buildings are very beautiful and a sight to see, especially during homecoming. However, the campus facilities are average and could use some help to make them better. Coleman Library is really nice. It is four floors, very spacious, offers lots of private study space, and has tons of computers with a good network speed—there are computer labs on each floor. The view from the library’s top floor is beautiful, and there are also rooms for group study or to practice presentations. The library is always busy, giving it the nickname “Club Coleman.”

The Hansel Tookes Sr. Student Recreation Center recently opened and gets a grade A. Located on the corner of Wahnish Way and Osceola Road, it is a popular spot for students who enjoy getting a great workout with great equipment. Besides the gyms and library, the student centers are nice, as well—the University Union is equipped with flat screens, couches, gaming systems, and a bowling alley. FAMU students have enough stuff on campus to keep them entertained after a long day of studying.

Clubs and Organizations on Campus
Clubs and organizations are a big part of campus life. It's very easy to join-just show up to the interest meeting of any clubs you think you'll like. The Greek organizations are especially popular and are known for their community service work on and off campus, but FAMU also offers service clubs, modeling and dance troupes, major clubs, and community service clubs. You'll find a club here for practically any hobby or interest you have, but if there is not a club that fits your interests, you are welcome to create one-all you need is a proposal and an adviser to support it.
