Interviews & Information Sessions
Interviews are not required at Fitchburg State. You are always welcome to speak with an admissions counselor or specific department faculty member during a visit or via e-mail. Daily information sessions are available, and there are also information sessions on sporadic Saturdays throughout the year.
Campus Tours
Admissions hosts three open houses during the fall semester-two in October, one in November, and the President's Reception during the spring semester. An RSVP is appreciated for these events. There are also daily tours available at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The daily tour showcases the main campus (not the McKay Campus School), recreation center, dining hall, parking, and a dorm room. You do not need to make a reservation for these tours.
Overnight Visits
Fitchburg State does not provide overnight visits through admissions. However, if you are friends with or know of a current student, you are more than welcome to visit the campus and sleepover in their dorm-with their permission, of course.

Fitchburg State admissions does provide a "Shadow Program" for prospective students. You are recommended to schedule this visit at least two weeks in advance. You will have the opportunity to shadow a current Fitchburg State student in the program you are considering. You will also have the opportunity to attend meals and campus events with this person for the entire day. This program is not available over the summer, holidays, exams, and semester breaks.
Did You Know?
You can chat with a current student via an instant messenger provided by the admissions office. You can join a room that is specific to your needs and ask any question you have about classes, student life, or athletics.
