5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: everyone i knwo who graduated from here make alot of money

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Some of the dorms get bed bugs frequently. its gross.

5 College Freshman

Greek Life: If you want to party you should join greek life. there are good parties here, but most of the parties involve greek life.

2 College Freshman

Athletics: The rec center has three tredmills. two are borken. the machines break all the time and take forever to be fixed.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Its great i love ferris. its out in the country. ive only worked on pre recs which is kind of annoying but i cant wait to start taking classes about my field of study. the food is awesome. my R.A is nice. ive met great people. everybodyblistens to country music here.

4 College Student

Athletics: We are big on athletics which is good and healthy for the community. We all have something (a game of some sort) to look forward to and come together as a school and cheer!

5 College Student

Overall Experience: I love my school. We are a community not just separate bodies wandering a building. We all help each other out and make our experiences the best they can possibly be. I go to a Christian school so we can talk about our religion freely which is so comforting.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: campus security is around all the time, there are emergency phones all around campus, and you can be escorted by campus security if you don't feel safe walking around at night.

Campus Housing: the rooms seem a bit dated, but compared to other schools its pretty affordable. also, my roommate smells.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Sometimes you see them around campus doing fundraisers. I hear they party a lot too.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Hockey is very big here, and it's very fun to watch. The other varsity sports, intramurals, and club sports all get about the same attention. The facilities are nice, but can get crowded at peak hours.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It was a little hard at first, because I wasn't that involved. My experience improved when I started being more social.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Provide escorts whenever students walk at night or uncomfortable.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Class sizes are perfect because the professor can answer questions from almost anyone in a timely manner. There are wide variety of different courses to take and the professors do everything that they can to make sure that the students succeed.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Some buildings are more spacious than others but it's easy to make friends. Most people are friendly.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: A lot of events are held by societies and fraternities

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: As far as I know, there has been hardly any crime on campus, and we have emergency stations all over campus that anyone can just hit a button on and the police station is called to that location. The sidewalks are also pretty well lit during the night which makes me feel safe and am always out in the light and never in shadows where people can't see me.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Most of the classes are a good size, not too small and not too big, and most of the professors are great. They don't offer a large variety of classes a lot of the good ones are nearly impossible to get into.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Every semester we have a career and internship fair and a lot of companies come in and offer students all kinds of internships and jobs.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I am in the honors college here and one of the perks is that I get my own room, which was nice for the first couple months, but then it got lonely and my hall isn't very social. However, the RA's are really cool and it seems like they try to make people interact.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I haven't really interacted with the Greeks a whole lot so I don't know a lot about them.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: We have a NCAA division one hockey team that is really good and a lot of people go to the games and they are a lot of fun. We also have a NCAA division two football team that is also very good and has been competing for a national championship the past couple of years. However, not as many people go to those games and they are only mediocre.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It is alright, I am unsure of a major though and I want to switch out of chemistry but I don't know what to yet, so that has made things here a little complicated. I also have not found a good friend group yet and have not had much of a social life here.

According to students, if they were given the option to go to this school again, 69% of students would choose Ferris! The same amount of students surveyed said that they like most everything about the school and would only change a few things. Overall, students find that there are many great people to meet, and it's a good academic college. Though some stress the lack of entertainment and “city” things to do, if a person is content with small-town life, then this would be the best place.

The people and the faculty make Ferris a great experience. The faculty and staff are pretty helpful and understanding if a student needs extra help or is having problems with something. The school and faculty seem to care about the students and take an interest in students getting the help and the experiences they should. As long as the student puts in a decent amount of effort in their classes, faculty will be more apt to help.

Another great factor about the school is that class sizes are small, and there is more individualized attention for each student. Since the community is small, there are not too many things to do, but there are enough! There are several bars, a bowling alley, a movie theater, and tons of parties and get-togethers throughout the week. Since people seem to be so friendly on and around campus, it is easy to make friends and have something to do and someone to do it with! While in school, though education is the main focus, it is important to have some balance in life and join other groups and activities (which there are many to pick from).
