4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Every semester we have a career and internship fair and a lot of companies come in and offer students all kinds of internships and jobs.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I am in the honors college here and one of the perks is that I get my own room, which was nice for the first couple months, but then it got lonely and my hall isn't very social. However, the RA's are really cool and it seems like they try to make people interact.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I haven't really interacted with the Greeks a whole lot so I don't know a lot about them.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: We have a NCAA division one hockey team that is really good and a lot of people go to the games and they are a lot of fun. We also have a NCAA division two football team that is also very good and has been competing for a national championship the past couple of years. However, not as many people go to those games and they are only mediocre.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It is alright, I am unsure of a major though and I want to switch out of chemistry but I don't know what to yet, so that has made things here a little complicated. I also have not found a good friend group yet and have not had much of a social life here.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The proffesors are knowledgeable and friendly

Overall Experience: The degrees are highly valued.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Do not have enough information to rate effectively.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: It has one of the best programs for my major.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: The professors are always willing to help the students succeed. There are many different majors and courses to choose from interest. The classes are usually small, which helps me learn better. Easier to ask professors questions

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Some of the dorms are old-fashioned, but they are homely. They are dining services that provide different varieties to the students. The cost is average, but you get incentive pricing if you live on campus for two semesters.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Hockey is the biggest thing at Ferris. Everyone comes out to cheer on the Bulldogs, which is a big part of the season. It gives the team so much support to do well.

5 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life is a big part of campus because of all the activities they create. They support charities and volunteer for the town. Many people view Greeks as friendly people and they help you get to know people.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: There are security services and help buttons that call for help. Security makes sure eveyone is safe.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Everything is student friendly and there are so many places to go to get resources.

4 College Student

Athletics: The athletics overshadow the other clubs and activities

4 College Student

Overall Experience: When I was enrolled, the school itself was great but financial aid was not much help.

Athletics: We have great programs for athletes. I do not personally attend the varsity games. But, on a different not, intramural sports help me get through my semesters. They provide just what I need to suppress anxiety, and the best part is anyone can join. They are one of the great things I love about Ferris.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There's a lot of nice opportunities here.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: My first few years I had a hard time making the transition from high school to college. To be completely honest I had no idea what I was in for and flunked out due to a lack of knowledge on what courses I SHOULD have been taking. After a year elsewhere I was accepted back into Ferris and, with a new attitude, have found that Ferris provides every opportunity to further student success. MY failure was MY fault. This college is a prime example of giving the student what they earn/deserve. You get out what you put in.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

According to students, if they were given the option to go to this school again, 69% of students would choose Ferris! The same amount of students surveyed said that they like most everything about the school and would only change a few things. Overall, students find that there are many great people to meet, and it's a good academic college. Though some stress the lack of entertainment and “city” things to do, if a person is content with small-town life, then this would be the best place.

The people and the faculty make Ferris a great experience. The faculty and staff are pretty helpful and understanding if a student needs extra help or is having problems with something. The school and faculty seem to care about the students and take an interest in students getting the help and the experiences they should. As long as the student puts in a decent amount of effort in their classes, faculty will be more apt to help.

Another great factor about the school is that class sizes are small, and there is more individualized attention for each student. Since the community is small, there are not too many things to do, but there are enough! There are several bars, a bowling alley, a movie theater, and tons of parties and get-togethers throughout the week. Since people seem to be so friendly on and around campus, it is easy to make friends and have something to do and someone to do it with! While in school, though education is the main focus, it is important to have some balance in life and join other groups and activities (which there are many to pick from).
