FIT is located in Chelsea, one of Manhattan’s most fashionable and trendy neighborhoods. The campus is just blocks away from the Garment District, providing a number of opportunities for FIT students.

People can have different experiences in New York City—it's just what you make of it. The environment can be overwhelming for students, as the atmosphere takes a lot of getting used to. There are millions of people who shuffle back and forth to work during the week, thousands of tourists taking pictures, and a large amount of homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk and begging for food and money. New York City is also a huge set for movies and television shows, and it has a lot of history, too. It would be an understatement to say that New York City has something to offer everyone.
