3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I generally feel safe, but walking through campus at night there are some areas that aren't very well lit. I would feel better if I were in a group.

Campus Housing: The housing is nicer than most campuses, but some things could be changed

Athletics: The school spirit and fan support really depends on the sport

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Great resources for students, and great activities. Advisors and faculty could be a little more helpful

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: A degree from this school is very valuable. It's said Fairmont graduates are offered jobs first.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Not involved with a sorority but never had a bad experience with a member

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I'm not big into sports

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Very good nursing program. I would choose this school again.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Not the best school you'll ever attend, but a very solid and safe backup choice. Academically, very strong. There's some small-town school drama, though.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Better than most in the state (and the best in many fields), but it's not a top-tier school because of lack of funding and hiring pool.

4 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: Not a lot of problems in general. Our upper administration likes to sweep things under the rug, but most of the mid-level admins are very adamant about addressing issues, and quickly.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: Well, I've worked with housing and residence life since I arrived here, and I don't see many problems internally. A lot of our staff genuinely cares about the students. There's a lot of money issues that prevent our more ambitious projects, and some of the staff is sub-par because we have a small hiring pool, but most of us do try very hard to keep the students happy.

3 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: We've had a lot of complaints about sexual assault and hazing lodged against our Greek life, and two of our major fraternities are often fighting, throwing terrible parties, and generally causing problems. That said, our lower-key sororities and fraternities seem like good people, with lots of community service and a high involvement on campus.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: I have some complaints about recent administrative monetary misuse, and the administration's dismissive view of students as a whole, but the faculty and staff are great and there are no other major issues, so it's pretty good.

3 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: Lots of money is focused around improving our athletics, with exceptions made left and right for athletes, yet they only seem to win a few games a year and never contribute to campus life.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel safe, campus police is all the time patrolling the parking lot and writing tickets.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: For the most part, I have enjoyed the classes that I have taken.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I have never been to the career center so I have nothing to rate.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus isn't as bad as some people say. It's extremely convenient when there is snow on the ground because you don't have to worry about the roads.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't see Greek-Life an issue. There are several fraternities that are inactive.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Fan support at Fairmont State is amazing. Tons of students attend basketball games, softball games, etc.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love Fairmont State University. It's close to my hometown. The class sizes are relatively small but still large enough.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Not a lot of wild parties, and people end up going back home/ to their dorms most of the time.
